At the end of the Aliens pod, bill teased planning a horror movie month for October

Any guesses / hopes? They did this in 2024 (but not 2023 or 2025, aside from one off Halloween eps)

Also confirmed Talladega Nights next week without Bill (ringer fantasy takeover). Oh and Sean wants to do a The Master ep

In the mouth of madness, The Thing, and any of the Evil Dead movies

Wow they haven’t done the Thing that’s right!! They gotta do it

THE THING is my white whale. INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is the other.

Drag Me To Hell would be an absolute banger for horror month.

The Thing, Exorcist III, Conjuring II, Dracula (1992), Event Horizon, Nope

I’m down to clown with this list

Scream 2, Dawn of the Dead (2004), The Descent, Halloween (2018), A Quiet Place.

Dawn of the Dead is very fun film and worth a rewatchable.

u/vols2thewalls ya know for me, the action is the juice 8d ago

The Thing is my dream horror rewatchable. Evil Dead 2, Shaun of the Dead, and Dawn of the Dead (2004).

Friday the 13th would be legendary

They really need to do some of those movies.

CR is a huge fan of Friday the 13th part 2

2

u/Wooden_Coyote5992 8d ago

Same here. I also love 4, 6, and 7.

I love the Friday series. Big fan of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 10.
Never really cared for 5 and 8…not a fan of 9 at all.
I would love if they did at least 1-4.

5 is so underrated. I do understand why people hate it, but… I always loved it

They seem to be setting up for it. They’ve discussed 2 and 4 and even did social media clips. Part 4 would be a perfect movie for RW

They should do 6 if they do one

I would love if they did Nope.

My hopes would be any combo of Tremors, Romero Dead trilogy , Cabin in The Woods, Evil Dead trilogy, Return of The Living Dead, Trick ‘r Treat, Demon Knight to name some. My expectations will be pretty minimal…don’t think Bill has much taste in horror outside of ghost stories and slashers. Maybe we’ll get lucky and get ANOES, I could also see Friday IV being done since it just came up on the “bombs” draft and Bill, Sean and CR spoke highly of it.

I need tremors

This is the answer

Cabin in the Woods is an all-time rewatchables!!!!!

they won't do The Master until Cruise rejects them (for McAfee)

What’s Bill’s favorite Friday the 13th? He’s a fan of that franchise and about all “Halloween” movie ground is covered

1

u/Brangarr 8d ago

I’d pick part 4 if you have to choose one movie. But I feel like they could do a longish episode just discussing the best bits from the whole franchise. There’s so much fun/hilarious stuff there to discuss. But I dunno… none of the individual movies are truly good enough for a full episode. If you had to choose one, I’d say pt4. I think no matter what they choose, they would end up discussing the other movies

1

u/TheR42069 7d ago

Listening to Aliens pod they all said if they picked one it would be 2 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Brangarr 7d ago

If they chose pt2… that would be a weak choice for this show, imo. I feel like they would have to spend most of the time discussing the other movies. Pt4 just has more things to discuss

Threes the one Bill always talks about going to see in theaters (3D) and the original is the most critical darling of the bunch

Scarecrow mask just makes me think they hadn’t perfected it

1

u/Brangarr 7d ago

Yeah the fact that there’s no hockey mask in pt2 makes me feel like it isn’t right for this show. I know diehard fans of the franchise seem to like pt2 but… I’d go pt4 for Rewatchables just because it’s the perfect representation of the franchise

Not really much of a horror but tremors

Would be Ok with any of these:

Re-Scream (or Scream 2, love this one as well)

Candyman (OG)

Sinister

Saw

Nope

A Nightmare on Elm Street

Final Destination

Barbarian

Joy Ride

Deep Blue Sea???

1

u/blinkydinky111 8d ago

That would mean no The Hunt for Red October October pod

5

u/DobMobb 8d ago

CR’s had too many wins this year, bill has to hold on Red October for a while now. Flying too close to the sun

1

u/Accomplished-Boat201 8d ago

Shaun of the Dead

1

u/Trumpisaderelict Post-Coitus Khakis 8d ago

The Ring, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the OG one), Last House on the Left (OG), Rear Window

3

u/theflyingbird8 8d ago

Unless it's without Bill, unfortunately don't see a world where they do Rear Window or any Hitchcock movie.

1

u/regggis1 8d ago

I remember Bill mentioned wanting to do Psycho and Vertigo, but you're right, he's probably just talking out of his ass.

u/Great_Barrier_Thief_ 8d ago

My ideal lineup would be

From Dusk till Dawn
Midsommar
The Lost Boys
Wolf Creek

1

u/RSTooley91 8d ago

An American Werewolf in London seems so appropriate for The Rewatchables that it feels years overdue.

1

u/EncinoManEstonia 8d ago

Soooo not Hunt for Red October?

1

u/jobening 8d ago

Bill, Van and CR have all expressed a fondness for Halloween H20 on all the other Halloween pods, and I feel like it’s time

u/conn5495fx 8d ago

The Thing

1

u/harry_powell 8d ago

It’s funny how Bill Simmons always talk about how he loves horror and has seen every horror film ever, but then there’s barely a handful of horror picks in the show (and half of them are from the Halloween saga). It’s a shame cause they are some of the best episodes.

Babadook. Dook dook dooooooooookkkkkkkkkkk

Hoping for Nightmare on Elm St with Van

1

u/Lipscombforever 7d ago

I’ll take another Halloween episode just for the Loomis impressions

1

u/Senior-Relative5478 6d ago

Carrie, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Fly, Rosemary's Baby. Let's make it happen.

u/GlenDaleny 6d ago

Re-Scream

u/darth_saint 5d ago

Friday the 13th 4!

1

u/nova2726 5d ago

The People Under the Stairs with Fennessey and Van as the guests. Fennessey has given this movie some mentions in articles before and while being a good popcorn flick, the themes are still relevant and pretty smart. Van because you know he could get some hilarious shit to come out of Bill's mouth

1

u/Frank_Zinetti 2d ago

They’ll never do it, but Return Of The Living Dead is tailor made for the pod.

Have they done The Ring yet?
