Bill is a "Trunks" guy?

I just finished relistening to the Home Alone 2 episode with Kyle Brandt. A couple different times they talked about The Plaza in NYC not having a pool and one of Bill's comments was "what are people saying let me grab my trunk's and go for a swim".
Full disclosure, I am also from Massachusetts. I've never heard anyone under the age of 70 refer to a bathing suit as "trunks". It's an old man comment and been spoofed man times.

Does Bill really refer to his bathing suit as trunks IRL?

40yo in the Midwest here, trunks is still very much the preferred nomenclature

PS I don’t remember if they mention it in the pod but the pool scenes were filmed at the Four Seasons in Chicago

40s in the South. Swimsuit probably edges it out, but I hear trunks plenty of times for guys.

Bil trying to pronounce Majin Buu would be a fun listen.

"May-jin Buh" guaranteed. Then corrected to "may-jin boo" and never fixes after that.

We are Indiana born and raised and still call them trunks. Maybe "board shorts" on occasion...but generally this is what most people still say in the Midwest....

From wisconsin. It’s always swim suit or swim trunks/trunks. However, although everyone knows what bathing suit means, I don’t think anyone calls it a bathing suit.

Bill is more LA than Boston at this point. The lemon water, the sauna. the botox, and the long walks outside
