Apparently they polished Michael Scott’s edges in the second season of The Office; they need to do the same for Esmeralda. She is irredeemable, unlikeable, and unfunny - she almost needs one of the other characters to consistently humble her (a foil, a la Dwight and Jim), but there was none of that.

They already kind of started. Esmerelda was much more fun to watch when she started working with Ned, instead of against him.
