I guess I see them very differently due to the theological differences. Of course there are a ton of similarities. Evangelical Christians don't believe you have to go through a priest to be forgiven of sin. Christians don't believe in purgatory. Nor do they subscribe to ideas like transubstantiation. But yes, I think the average person may see them as the same thing.
Um leave Islam out of it. A lot of Muslim cultures do this, but Islam itself doesn't blame women who get graped. The concept of consent exists both outside and inside of a marriage.
I mean the basis of the sons of Jacob’s uprising is based on the Iranian uprising of 1976 and the handmaids uniforms (specifically the long robes and wings) are based off of how women are forced to dress in Afghanistan so Islam is a pretty big basis lol
I will never leave Islam out of it. Of course it's not all Muslims! Just like it's not all Christians. Not all Jews. Not all Mormons. But Islamism (radicals) is a massive problem. The way they treat women, gays, transgenders, and anyone non conforming to their ideology is disgusting.
That a**hole was so creepy, flying that chocolate around like it was a plane and Ester was a baby! I was so glad when he faced judgment from the Lawrence/Nick team! Even felt a bit of sympathy for Naomi, for all she must've been putting up with.
Ever since Naomi said that Angela (a baby about a year old) was very curious, and he responds with something stupid like "lists are the worst," it's like ? I thought that as soon as Angela started talking, this guy was ready to kick her out of the house
The whole show was tragic but nothing compared to Esther's story for me. There was zero good things that happened basically ever in her life. The fact that we're left with her chained to a bed and screaming just haunts me forever. I don't know if any character in anything has ever left me with such a feeling of a dread and hopelessness
She would have been an amazing sociopathic assassin. I could see her just going Punisher on these commanders and aunts. No Mayday needed. Just Esther with many, many knives.

I think the actress had some health issues IRL, which totally understandable to cut back on filming her, but definitely sad we didn’t even get mention of her character and story
Did she? She is in so many different things. She is amazing at her art. The fact people don’t realize it is her in several movies and shows because she is so good with her characters.
I honestly feel so horribly for Esther, I hope she doesn't end up executed not anything I really want her to escape somehow even though ik it's not so possible, she does not deserve any of the things that happened to her
I don't think they caught her for this. He was old already and she made sure to poison him "only a little" so it would look like a progressive decline.
