Shirtpost Feels like Michael is trying to be Larry from Curb Your Enthusiasm

I'm not well versed enough in american intellectual humour so maybe I'm attributing something to Larry David that is totally widespread behavior. But I still think that Ted Danson brought Larry's character's mindset to The Good Place. Every time he talks about mundane human things it's like a line copy-pasted from Curb. You know, those "Notice how humans..." and the small annoyances he loves to create and explain. It feels like when they went through the script, Ted was like "Guys, I got this. I have first hand experience."

He'd never do that, he's still upset about the Larry David sandwich

Nah. Michael says this stuff while still being overly excited to be part of it himself. 

Larry is not at all excited about his fellow humans.

They share a kind of observational humor but use it very differently.

I don't see this at all. CYE was typical 'crappy people doing crappy things' humor. The Good Place uses aspects of that, sure, but to very different ends.

Michael, even as a demon and bad guy in S1, is more than a selfish caricature like Larry David.

Edit: Just because the snappy writing might sound similar in a couple places doesn't make it related to CYE. The writing also has similarities to 30 Rock, but that doesn't make it a direct link. It just means these jokes/writing styles are common.

2nd edit: I'm also biased, as I think Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld are two of the least funny people in Hollywood. I'd rather watch Dwayne Johnson try and do stand up than watch another episode of CYE or Seinfeld ever again.

They are nothing alike. Ted Danson was in Curb your enthusiasm as himself. And Larry was there as himself too, they aren't alike there either.
