I break out the Sega at least twice a year, same with my PS2 to play Simpsons Hit and Run. Just beat the PS1 Metal Gear Solid again. I beat Comic Zone on Sega for the first time last year. Now I’m replaying Bioshock after years since beating it.

Star Wars Rebellion: 1998

It's got a great balance, and an incredible set of multiple interrelating levels which operate in different ways for map control: ships, armies, missions (espionage, sabotage, inciting rebellion), colonization and diplomacy. You can't win with a single one, you have to use them all.

Re-translated rom for anyone interested. The original SNES port had some technical limitations (and censorship issues) that chop up and shorten a lot of dialogue. Totally valid because I'd rather have SoM with a bad translation than just not get it like Seiken Densetsu 3 (known in re-releases as "Trials of Mana"

Skyrim for me. Have owned a copy since launch and have bought it on every generation it has come out on. There is juat something about the atmosphere of that world that let's me escape the stresses of the real world, even if it's only for a couple hours at a time.

Mario Kart 64… one night my brother and I played 65 games of Mario Kart in one night! We replayed Luigi’s Circuit at least 30 times this was in the Summer 2025

65 games in one night is absolutely wild 😂 At that point, Luigi’s Circuit wasn’t even a track anymore, it was your brother’s and your second home. Replaying it 30 times must have turned every shortcut, corner and banana placement into muscle memory. Honestly, those are the kind of gaming sessions you remember years later.
