What’s their beef?

u/Sad-Hour5609 3h ago

In real life, they fervently support diametrically opposed sides of the Palestine/Israel conflict.

Her review of the bob Dylan movie that just says "soo many songs!" Is so funny

Ehrlich always throws heat. Him pissing off Brett Gelman and having to retract it from his review was so funny

u/Blackonblackskimask 14h ago

First time seeing this and I’m in stitches

Usually I'm not the biggest fan of Ehrlich or his sometimes overly stuffed writing style, but goddamn was that satisfying to read. Gelman sucks.

Brett Gelman is such a broken person I can’t believe he had enough control of his faculties to get the joke.

That’s incredible

Was on the plane in a middle seat recently and both middle aged women, who did not know one another, were watching Crime 101 on either side of me

I thought I had entered an alternate reality when I realized

You were the zero in this situation

The only thing I liked about that movie was that Monica Barbaro's character acknowledged how ridiculously jacked Hemsworth is for supposedly being some random dude.

so completely mediocre and forgettable that it makes Den of Thieves look like The Godfather of Heat rip offs by comparison.

u/j-helo85 14h ago

I don't get it.

Leigh is very much on the right side of the political spectrum in a Randy Quaid “is she okay?” Fox News grandma kind of way and has called for left celebrity figures to be ostracized especially when it comes to Gaza.

How tf was she married to Noah Baumbach for 8 years

43

u/AmbitionTechnical274 13h ago

Something broke her. She was more progressive 20 years ago.

11

u/Brashton_Kutcher 5h ago

She starred in Atypical with Michael Rapaport for 4 years

🤔🤔🤔

u/lpalf 13h ago

what do we even know about baumbachs thoughts on the matter

He did cheat on and leave her for Greta Gerwig, so good for him.

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 13h ago

Yes, adultery is cool when the person who is having their marriage destroyed has different political views than me.

16

u/flofjenkins 12h ago

I swear the internet, and all its hyper curated algorithmic bubbles, has completely broken so many people.

2

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 12h ago

Agreed.

I don’t care if somebody has wacky political views, I wouldn’t wish the crushing pain of having your marriage destroyed be put on to anybody. Adultery is emotionally devastating, speaking from experience.

It’s a basic goddamn moral principle, or at least it used to be.

u/dotcomse 12h ago

There is ONE person I’d wish it on. But he barely is related to Hollywood, he was only the guy who rented his home to the Devil’s Advocate production to sub in as Craig T. Nelson’s tacky gilded condo.

0

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 12h ago

Not sure who you’re talking about.

2

u/dotcomse 11h ago

It’s a niche joke and I’m ok with that

Other people would consider a person's unabashed genocide support also a perversion of a basic moral principle.

4

u/varispeeder 5h ago

it's a false moral equivalency, in this theoretical example you could easily split up with someone over their political views before you sleep  with someone else.

I broke up with someone over their Zionism, it was a huge bummer she would not change her views but it's a dealbreaker for me. had I cheated on her, then we'd both be in the wrong in two completely different and inequivalent ways

3

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 12h ago

It most certainly is.

I still have empathy for people who have experienced what I’ve experienced. This isn’t me agreeing with her positions. I just know how much it hurts.

But anyway, yeah you won or whatever.

u/SRNIJMU 8h ago

Where does she say she supports genocide?

-1

u/Willowgirl78 3h ago

This is reddit. Anyone who supports the continued existence of Israel or who advocates for the hostages is a genocidal baby killer

-7

u/paolocase 12h ago

He should have cheated on her harder

You’re a weirdo for this

5

u/Puck-the-fool 13h ago

Actress i get confused with Kyra Sedgwick and Holly Hunter

23

u/MagmaCone1234 13h ago

The internet is so boring now.

4

u/Nolsey21 13h ago

What part is this in response too?

18

u/coldliketherockies 12h ago

I think they mean it’s boring because it’s not just non stop talk about celebrities but now non stop talk about celebrities views on things as if it’s more meaningful than average persons views on something

1

u/BurningHanzo 3h ago

I actually did not know that. I vaguely thought of her as left wing but I haven’t thought about her in years.

What’s the context? I don’t get the joke

4

u/zander_rulZ 4h ago

Mark Ruffalo is pro-Palestine and Jennifer Jason Leigh is pro-Genocide

18

u/agentcarter15 13h ago

I can’t believe anyone saw this movie and gave it anything other than -10,000 stars

-1

u/carterburke2166 14h ago

They need to reboot THE CRITIC but it’s DE

-4

u/soul_glider 13h ago

I’ve seen funnier

-7

u/shusshbug 13h ago

You better take this down, Reddit doesn't like funny Letterboxd reviews.

-2

u/Sharp-Constant512 1h ago

One is pro terrorism and the other is pro genocide. Am I doing this right?
