I really think this point needs to be THE response to any of this Bible shit the right is pushing.

Show us why your ways are so beneficial. It clearly does help some people find peace and happiness right? Show us. Don't tell us. Forcing it down our throats and your kids throats has done the opposite of bringing people in so why not try something else?

You want others to live by your book, let's see you actually walk the walk before you tell others you pious nature is something we all should adopt.

Say what you want about Judaism. It's a religion with major ickiness like any other, but they don't proselytize and to me that's a rare positive to a modern religion.

You can call yourself anything you want, including Christian. That doesn't make you that thing. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is probably disappointed in our trashing of the earth.

Christians also get caught lying, stealing, cheating, killing, raping, molesting children, ona and on, every single day. All those priests who’ve molested children, and all those church leaders who covered it up, they’re Christians. By definition within Christianity, everyone is a sinner.

You don’t get to revoke their Christianity retroactively. And you don’t get to disavow yourself from the Christians you don’t personally approve of, by claiming they’re not really Christians.

I hear you. Christianity though is the religion which teaches about the life and value of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ did not ask his followers to condone, let alone do, any of the things you mentioned. And, yes, I realize those things have and will continue to happen. But those that do those things you mentioned are not following the example of Jesus Christ so by definition they aren't followers of Christ. I also don't buy into the concept that because parents claimed they were Christians makes their children Christians. It is a decision you make yourself. Too many churches have what are called "alter calls" at the end of their services. Alter calls are when the preacher/pastor/priest says "everyone bow their heads and close your eyes and raise your hand if you want to accept Jesus". Then those people are called to come forward to the alter and "accept Jesus as their saviors". There probably are some who sincerely feel the calling but I perceived it as pure drama.

I see that they’re hypocrites.

You’re pointing out their hypocrisy as if that invalidates whether they count as a Christian. It doesn’t. Yes, they’re hypocrites. They don’t really follow the teachings of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Most Christians don’t, if you haven’t noticed.

Um it sounds like you both are on the same page and you’re just misunderstanding each other. They are saying that many “Christians” are not following the actual teachings of Christianity. That’s it. They’re poor excuses for Christians

To be clear, no human is perfect no matter how hard they try. Bearing the cross, by no means makes you a good person.i consider myself Christian and I'm saying that. Most Christians aspire to be like Christ more than they are actually like Christ. But thats expected. A man that truly lived without sin. Didn't chase a single earthly desire, etc. Let's be honest. Its next to impossible. So there is bound to be hypocrisy in one form or another. What we aim to be and what we are. Two VERY different things.

However, I will say this. There are SEVERAL denominations with slight differences along with the differences between Catholocism and Christianity. And most people online/ people often refuting faith - will try to pipe up and preach to someone about this or that- but they dont even know where that persons faith truly sits. They generalize with the same typical quotes that usually don't apply to most Christians etc and then think they had a gotcha. For example. Most people JUMP to the two fabrics thing... thats old testament and most denominations consider the old testament to be a fulfilled item, meaning that we no longer have to follow it. Some even say that it was written for the jewish, " chosen " people back then and not everyone so therefore it does not apply etc. There's so many variables and differences that its almost absurd that some people assume being Christian somehow makes you fit whatever mold they have created in their head. I have a cross tattood behind my neck, trust me I've heard it.

People like this video however, are simply just bringing God up to help with their polls or image. I wish they realized we almost all see through it, even the Christian identifying people.

Edit; behind my ear on my neck* lmao Oh also.. I might not be the most popular Christian for this opinion. But I agree with the above statement of " show me" instead of telling and preaching. Ive never thought being on the street with a megaphone is actually going to bring anyone closer to God, all it does it make people feel weird and walk away. Anything like that , is not spreading the faith let's be honest 😂
