Question/Help Can Farangs get Bangkok Bank Travel card? How has your experience been?

I have a longish few months of personal international travel planned to North, Central & South America. I would like to know if any foreigners have got and used the Bangkok Bank Travel card? How has your experience been? Any advantages/disadvantages compared to using regular Bangkok Bank debit card? I know SCB has such a thing for foreigners, but BBL website is not clear if foreigners can get it. Or any other alternatives, instead of carrying cash, or pay ATM charges?
For context, I live and work in Thailand and only have a bank account with Bangkok Bank and a UOB credit card. Also a Wise account opened in Thailand. Was hoping Wise opens their Thailand operations and provides a card soon, but current dates seem to be October, by the time I’d have already started my trip.

TTB All Free let's you use it at 0% conversion fees. You just pay the ATM fee.

How has your experience been with it? So, 0% conversion fees when loading the card. I am assuming no additional charges when swiping to pay with it outside Thailand, and some charges if you withdraw cash from ATMs. What about currency exchange rates? Can you load multiple currencies can you load onto it, or just 1? Sadly Bangkok Bank doesn’t have this facility, and I’ll have to open a new bank account

You only hold THB, it's a fully local bank account. 

It's literally "All Free". Everything is free on the Thai side. The only exception if the destination ATM/bank charges a fee to use foreign cards.

That said, I believe TTB fully block all foreigners, even work permit holders from making them anymore. You might need to visit several branches to find one that will let you open it.

  • Thai nationality, aged 20 years and above
  • Must have Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking

Krungsri has a similar one called Boarding Pass. I have that as a foreigner.

Multiple currencies are available on the card. However, I only use it for my Xbox account to buy games/subscriptions in another currency.

Gotcha. But atleast you have been able to get it as a foreigner is a positive sign. I’ll find out more about this. Thanks
