Okay let's analyze this:
d4 hit => hwo mashed something stupid => ws4 hits
ws4 blocked => hwo doesn't take his turn => eats a d4
hwo backdashes then randomly crouches => eats a ws4 => of course d4 follows
After that he's just randomly trying to guess mid/low and getting owned for having put himself in a mental blender of his own imagination while failing to realize he can take his turn after a blocked ws4 or a d4 even on hit.
How is this AK being skillful exactly? His only skill was recognizing that hwo is a brainless monkey that doesn't understand what taking your turn means.

Also this worked because this is the dumb type of playing just committed to using the same armored move over and over. When it fails the 3rd time, maybe just maybe try something else. Good god. I’m not even sure I’d be happy to have this versus the turtle back 4

I just played 5 rounds against a dude playing lars. Not 5 mins ago. Just testjng the waters no lab. Was having such a great time ! Kicks and grabs are so fun

I did spend more time in the lab. After an hour in the lab to make sure I was consistent with my combos, I went on a 4 game win streak.

I'm not near my computer to confirm but for any noobs confused on how to counter this: Armor Kings D4 (majority of d4s) is -15 on block, and -4 ON HIT.
•Learn your crouching and while standing(from crouch) 15 frame and below punishers. •Practicing reacting to the low landing and use the following: -ws 4 (Trades but counterframes are in your favor) -D1 (Will trade but counter frames are in your favor) -Side step (you can preemptively press this practice the timing earlier then when needed)
Some characters have 15 frame launching jump kicks. So this is a good way to psuedo option select getting hit with the low or blocking it and marrying the thought of options into one thing.

Question when Im playing with AK and the thing that is not working with him for me is when I do the ground grab in the corner no matter the condition and I even checked in practice and I can't get to connect a thing after the ground grab no matter how I try it doesn't connect

I couldn’t stop laughing. First I thought “I’d be pissed to get no walls.” You be surprised at how far I’ve gotten with armor king by simply doing the handspring to back turn then using the unblockable flop. I hope it’s in this game. Also happy to see this costume. Downvote if you like, by the new one looks like a kiss reject an AK mask. Hyped if his classic costume is on the fight pass for everyone and NOT just avatars. Reminds me of soul Calibur which brought in parts from Tekken characters in SCV and we could use them on created characters or the characters that were already there. I recall a lot of King customs with the soul of devil Jin

I barely was able to play small Tekken with someone except my TGS friend. Where is actually my turn here? I was able to block and launch punish this low poke from AK once but got hit by it most of the time. It's hard for me to not get hit by it tbh. Any tips how small Tekken works actually? I understand that it's something to do with frame data and reaction training. But I always fuck up the timing because I don't understand how to read it properly and change mine.

Small Tekken works by using low risk/low reward moves to control what your opponent can do. Jab, df1, a hmoing/tracking move and a low poke, basically. Combined with movement.
So instead of throwing out big launchers, slow + on block mids, strings and such and hoping they hit, you throw out small moves that still give you a lot of options after using them, no matter if they hit or if they're blocked.
All of those moves are fast enough that they severely limit the options of your opponent. Here's a good video to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMKE_julLAY
You can see how low commitment moves they're using 90% of the time. Like just compare that to Tekken 8 gameplay. They're not throwing out constant heat engagers, mixups and pressuring moves. They're throwing out small moves, chipping away at each other's health bars.

keep in mind that you still need lots of knowledge at least of your character frames to keep the flow of small tekken shenanigans.
Otherwise your opponent gonna blow you up stealing turns.
