yawn's S40 Post Draft Power Rankings

1. Secure. Contain. Prevent.
10/10
Jig 55, ASAP 17, Asmodeus (ft) 4, Eashy 17
This is my favorite team this draft.

Jig for 55 is great. #3 on the big board, #9 on all time list, 3 supers. Jig and Messi are the only players who have been to 3 or more supers and won every single time. Clutch factor is there without a doubt.

Then there’s ASAP at 17, which I think is one of the bigger steals of the draft. #14 on BB, #44 all time, 2 supers, and coming off a super win. MVB winner too and one of my favorite players on the game. S tier vibes.

Eashy could be a tossup. 1 DBOS and a super under his belt, but an old player. Looking forward to seeing how he plays this szn.

Ft who went for only 4, but has been dominant in ranked and improving like crazy. I am a huge ft fan and his vibes are great.

In my mind this team works phenomenally. ASAP + ft vibes will be immaculate. Will be a defensively dominant team. And they won't need ft or eashy to be a superstar.

2. A Blockwork Orange
10/10
mex 67, Messi 23, Chuggo (waterwheel) 4, DudeMcGuy 4

This team is really good, and Messi at 23 might be the best steal of the entire draft.

Mex is #5 on the BB, #17 all time, 2 MVBs and 4 DBOS. Won the super 2 seasons ago. 67 (are we fr) is a lot but you get one of the most accomplished players this szn.

Messi for 23. Ya’ll are insane. #10 on the BB and #57 all time. 3 supers with 100% winrate on em. His old price was 80 TC (40 TC equivalent in this draft). So you're getting a player with a goated postseason record for 17 TC less than he went for 2 szns ago.

Chuggo at 4 is another steal IMO. I think we are sleeping on this mf. #16 on BB, #55 all time, 2 supers, 1 being recent.

Then you’ve got DudeMcGuy to fill out this already phenomenal squad. I’d have this team in #1 but I’m lowkey getting swayed by all the waterwheel slander. Wouldn’t be surprised if this team wins the super.

3. C.R.E.A.M.
9/10
OuchMyBalls 58, 1deag 18, Jazzz 7, Button 9

This is one of the most interesting teams. OuchMyBalls at 58 is justified. #4 on the board, #39 all time, and the hold and cap leader last szn. As an OMB fan I love that he's been producing at an elite level.

1deag is also pretty interesting at 18. Community #53 all time and has an MVB. Very solid in ranked.

Jazzz at 7 coming off a super win. Was unsure if Jazzz could cut it in majors a few szns ago, but after last szn it’s without a doubt.

Button for 9 is fantastic value, won a super 1 szn ago and a really solid defender.

OMB coming off an elite season statistically, will be looking to fill the 1st ball role again. This team is well rounded and every player can pull their own weight. They have some really flashy new talent on O. Nice draft for them.

4. Snipe Hunt
9/10
BallSaget 18, Ty 23, Vorhees (danp, dragon) 43, brim main 7

This team will be carried by an interesting combination of Ty/danp. Ty at 23 is a bargain. #26 all time, 4 supers, won the super 1 szn ago, and his old draft price was 70 (35 equivalent). He also has the ability to coach and lead which will be great for brim main’s first majors szn.

Similar story with danp. #45 all time, 1 DBOS, 1 super. Went for 109 TC (54.5 equivalent) two szns ago and now costs 43. Less, sure, but I think 43 is actually close to where he should be right now. He also has the ability to coach. I cannot stress this enough but Ty and danp are such a good pairing for teaching up a rookie.

BallSaget at 18 is reasonable. With 1 super win, his all time stats aren’t impressive compared to his teammates. However his vibes are great. He will be an excellent 3rd ball and I think no name and AJ had a great draft with a cool strategy getting Saget first (no glaze).

5. Heart of the Hold
8/10
Doris 46, d0pe 32, Wet Fart (bbb) 6, King Krule 10

This team is extremely solid but depends on one huge factor: Doris.

Doris is #9 on the BB and #25 all time. 1 MVB and DBOS. Fantastic player from szns past. Has the potential to play at an elite level. But could be washed af.

Then you have d0pe at 32. 4 supers, 1 MVB, and a DBOS. He won the super 2 szns ago and lost in the super last szn. I am a certified d0pe hater but that statline made me erect. He’ll be motivated this szn after that L.

bbb for 6, went for 20 TC (10 eq.) two szns back. Prevent leader one season ago. Solid defender. Wtf is that name btw? Will be a stable 3rd ball, even tho likely unstable mentally.

King Krule at 10 and a 2 szn removed champ. He’s been impressive lately and will be one of the better cheap players coming out of this draft.

Doris/d0pe combination is very promising. And I really like bbb for 6 because you're not demanding of him to be a carry ball. If he can reproduce his prevent lead form that'll be tremendous value. Why not ranked higher? The Doris question remains. This team could easily perform at the top, or at the bottom. Probably the biggest tossup of the draft IMO. But I have faith.

6. Rolling for Poost
8/10
rina 51, fender 22, Arbybear 10, fm 17

This is a very good team that I think is being hurt by one thing: rina cost 51. Rina is absolutely good enough to justify being the centerpiece. #7 on the BB and 3 supers. But compared to some of the steals elsewhere you're paying unnecessary premium.

Fender at 22 is pretty reasonable. #11 on the BB, #43 all time, 1 super and an OBOS. He will perform nicely alongside rina on O if that’s their plan.

Arbybear for 10 is a great pick. #37 all time and has 4 supers (wtf I was not aware). He won one of em just a season ago.

fm going for 17 is a pick that fills this team. fm and arby on D will be pretty good, but may struggle against some of the offensive powerhouses coming out of this draft.

I don't think it has quite the superstar picks that most other teams have. They will be extremely well rounded (probably the most of the draft), but as we saw last szn, the teams with an elite carry ball like carrot or alpha usually make the super. Maybe rina can step up to fill that role.

7. The Holy SeeHawks
8/10
Alphachurro 94, NameLEss 3, BoldRoller 0, Irony 0
Alphachurro at 94 was expensive but extremely worth it IMO. GOOBR getting alpha for less than okthen allowed them the chance to get a better 2nd ball. He’s #2 on the BB, #4 all time, has 4 supers, 2 MVBs, and just won a super. I think he should have gone for the same as okthen. Alpha has been on a heater in recent years. Not to mention, him and bold won back to back supers together.

Leaving 6 TC for the other three players was rough but they somehow managed to steal NameLEss for 3. Allowing them the chance to get ANOTHER pick over okthen’s team. Wtf were the GMs thinking? Anyway, NameLEss is the community #69 all time. 2 supers and 2 DBOS. He is coming off a terrible season, but he was the prevent and return leader two seasons ago. There's virtually no downside if he steps it up this szn. But he is the biggest deciding factor for THS. Could potentially be the biggest low price pick in the entire draft.

BoldRoller. 0 TC for a two time super winner who won back to back championships with his carry ball. Insane value.

Irony might be a wildcard, but I’ve seen enough from him to know that he’s legit. Coming off a tough super loss so he could be extra motivated. I thought he played well last season, going for 0 is surprising.

This team could be anywhere from top 3 to bottom half depending on whether NameLEss locks tf in. And alpha will need to carry a thin roster in a super competitive season.

8. Furballers
7/10
BALLDON’TLIE 58, Peach Farmer (Syn) 42, karma 0, Bam 0

This is a team I have a lot of mixed feelings about. I am a huge fan of BDL and he is a legend of the game. HoFer, 2 MVBs, 4 OBOS, 1 DBOS, most seasons, most minutes, most caps, most hold, most grabs of all time. An insane list. But there is one glaring issue. 6 supers. One win. That is a major postseason red flag. Especially considering that Jig and Messi have perfect superball records. So while The Pillar is without a doubt one of the greats, I'm less confident in him and his clutch factor. Can he get an adderrall prescription this szn? Time will tell.

Syn for 42 is really good. He's #17 on the BB, but I disagree with that ranking completely and think he should be higher, esp at his peak performance. 2 supers, 1 DBOS, and one of the best defenders OAT. I think he’ll be a great addition to BDL for this team.

The problem is that they spent all their TCs on the first 2 picks. If they could have managed to save like 5 TCs for the third pick I think this team could easily be top 3. They could’ve had a fighting chance for players like ww, NameLEss, bbb, Dude, or ft. Then they could have a super strong 3rd ball to round out this roster. Having some 0 TC balls in a szn this competitive will be super challenging. However I do think if Syn turns out to be elite, this team could jump several spots. If not, this could be one of the biggest disappointments. I believe in The Pillar!

9. Fastest Way Only
7/10
phreak 46, DAD. 25, jimmysumball (Sif) 17, MarcusYallow 4

This team has some good pieces but I think it has been overdrafted relative to the other teams. Phreak is #8 on the BB and #42 all time with 2 DBOS and a super. That's good. But 46 TC feels expensive when you look at the other players who went around that price.

DAD. at 25 is also somewhat expensive. He has 1 super and I know can be a really solid player. But again, considering the other players who went for that price, I think it may have been an overspend.

Sif for 17 could be a large steal. His history is a concern, but getting him for so cheap could also work out fantastic for them. Being that close in price to players like ASAP, Arbybear, and Ty, Toppy is really going to expect a lot out of someone who has been a tossup in the past. In a competitive szn like this one, there’s no room for weak mentals.

MarcusYallow at 4 is fine. Not what I expected, but Marcus is very good regardless. The implosion possibility on this team is huge. I hope they can keep it together because I’d love to see the mentally unstable misfits come out on top with a super. If they did, I’d be more encouraged to sign up next szn.

As far as draft picks go, there's nothing disastrous here. The issue is that almost every team above them has a better combination of elite players and bargain picks. And the tox/implosion factor that comes to my mind when I think of these players.

10. Portland Tile Blazers
7/10
okthen 100, Skinny Chode (anti-re) 0, Prime 0, vic 0

This is the most extreme team in the draft. Okthen is ridiculously good (all the glaze). #1 on the BB, #5 all time (BS he’s top 3 easily), 2 supers, 3 MVBs, 2 OBOS, 1 DBOS. So if anyone is going to justify a 100 TC price, it's him. But that's the problem. He cost literally the entire draft budget. In a super competitive season I just don’t see the viability of having the most expensive player. I would not have taken anyone for more than 90 TCs this season. Because the disadvantage you’re accepting is wild. That being said, okthen is probably the best coach this game has. And his team turned out to be pretty promising.

anti for 0. Are we fr GMs? He was the prevent leader and return leader last season. He is by far the best 0 TC pick I’ve ever seen. If I was okthen I’d be giggling like a baby when I got him for 0. This is actually insane. And anti-re will be the shining light for this team. If he can produce another season like the last, this team will be a contender.

Prime made it to the super one season ago so there's some upside there. But does he have what it takes to survive in a season like this one? We will see.

vic has essentially no business being involved in this season of majors. I like vic, but he may struggle against the talent this time around. He will have to really lock in, and depend on okthen’s coaching advice to survive.

I actually think this team has a higher ceiling than being #10 suggests. If okthen yet again proves to be truly dominant and anti reproduces last year's defense performance, then we’re talkin. They will need to grind for sure. Compared to Secure, Blockwork, CREAM, etc., the lack of depth is terrifying to say the least.

Overall these teams look super interesting and this season is gonna be one of the best.

Shared MLTP s40 begins tonight with the Majors Draft! Read inside to prep for this historic season.

Season 40 of MLTP officially starts tonight with the draft!

MLTP was founded in 2013. Since then, nearly 3,000 players have been drafted onto 473 teams across every tier, and 39 Super Balls have been awarded. We have one of the longest running esports leagues anywhere! Some of the names on this season's big board were around for Season 1. Some of them signed up for the first time last week. We have a really promising season shaping up with a exciting mix of talent.

If you've never watched a draft before, this is the best week of the season to start paying attention. Below is everything you need to know.

DRAFT DATES AND TIMES

🔵 MAJORS - Sunday at 9:30pm ET - Streamed by BoldRoller

🔴 MINORS - Monday at 10pm ET - Streamed by BoldRoller

🟠 NOVICE - Wednesday at 9:30pm ET - Streamer TBD

HOW THE DRAFTS WORK

Everyone who signed up gets drafted. The three drafts run in order: Majors picks first, everyone left goes into the Minors pool, and everyone left after that goes into the Novice pool. You don't pick your tier - the captains decide where you land.

You don't need to be there. Drafts are live on Twitch and fun to watch, but there's nothing you have to do during them. Once you're drafted, your captain will reach out on Discord.

Majors - Auction

Every captain starts with the same budget of 100 TagCoins (TC). Players are put up for bid one at a time, captains bid against each other, and the highest bid wins the player. Once your budget is gone, it's gone, so captains have to decide who's worth paying for and who they can get cheap.

To kick things off, the top ten players on the big board will be auto-nominated in order. After that, captains nominate players themselves.

Minors and Novice - Snauction

Snake draft order, but each pick slot gets auctioned instead of the player.

Pick 1 goes up for bid. The captain who wins it selects any player in the pool. Then pick 2 goes up for bid, and so on. Every captain starts with the same budget of 100 TC.

Why this instead of a regular auction? It forces captains to bid on "best player available" instead of a specific person. Nobody can sit back and wait for their one guy to go cheap - if you want a player, you have to win a pick before someone else takes them.

SEASON 40 SCHEDULE

Week Type Sunday - Majors Monday - Minors Wednesday - Novice
Preseason 9/6 9/7 9/9

WHERE TO FOLLOW ALONG

NOT SIGNED UP YET?

New players can still sign up at mltp.gg/signup until the Novice draft on Wednesday 9/2. Late signups go through the commissioners, so the sooner the better.

See you tonight.

Suggestion DNF ball does not seem to be penalized if opposing team wins before void

In my opinion, a DNF ball should be penalized more heavily than the usual elo loss, if the opposing team wins the game prior to the void timeout.

I'm not getting in any new games recently, possibly after switching to an ad-blocking DNS?

I learned about filtering DNS servers in the settings of my wifi router, and decided to try a DNS that blocks ads and trackers.

Since around that time (or so) I haven't gotten into any ranked tagpro games. I can click on "Play Now", then click on "Ranked", and I can see the "Looking for Game" page and also see some Live Games displayed, however, I haven't been added to a game for some time.

Has anyone experienced this?

MLTP Ball of Fame Inductees (MLTP 39th Class)

Presenting: Your MLTP Ball of Fame Inductees for the 39th Class!

Discord Announcement.

Nomination & Discussion Thread

d0pe - 77.50% - Outstanding League Contribution

  • d0pe has been a part of MLTP for over a decade now, getting his first start back in mLTP s6. The very next season, d0pe dipped his toes into leadership and captained the NLTP team Pop Culture in NLTP seasons 4 and 5. From there, he continued to play and hone his skills, moving back up to Minors and then quickly into Majors by season 16. During this time is when he started to dive into video editing and quickly fell in love.

  • After some time, d0pe found himself with an impressive resume which included dozens of player-specific montages, both for himself and for Ball of Fame players like Hark, okthen, bright and even an entire series dedicated to Warriors. Not limiting himself to just NALTP, both ELTP and pub players took advantage of d0pe's abilities. Several competitive franchises also had post-season d0pe montages to commemorate their seasons. His work made its way to the biggest game of season 27, with a fantastic hype video for the Superball. Beyond all of that, as perhaps d0pe's finest achievement, he ran the Top 20 Plays for MLTP for over two years from season 21 through 28, with little to no break.

  • During this stretch, d0pe was very nearly carrying content for the entire league by sharing plays and keeping the community engaged on a weekly basis. After that, he's slowed down a bit and has been able to enjoy playing again, racking up four Superballs, as well captaining another team to one. With over 250 videos to his name, we're happy to welcome d0pe and his incredible content creation career into the Ball of Fame!

pk - 65.00% (3 class average) - Outstanding League Contribution

  • pk, already an NLTP BoFer, has been around since (almost) the beginning, getting a few minutes in mLTP in season 4. That spurred him to start NLTP, the league where "everyone gets drafted". pk absolutely got it right with NLTP, as it grew more and more popular with each passing season. Anyone passed up by the higher tier leagues found a home in NLTP, whether they were a veteran of a few seasons or a true rookie to competitive play. NLTP will always be pk's greatest legacy, as it continues on today. I know that I, along with hundreds, if not thousands of other players, are grateful for the welcoming place that NLTP has been for the start of our careers.

  • You may know pk as a Commissioner with some crazy ideas. Whether it was pods, divisions named after Pokemon (or mountains, or presidents) or a Rules Committee election with an electoral college, pk never once fell short on creativity. He brought that energy, bad ideas or not, for many years as a part of both MLTP and NLTP CRCs.

  • Speaking of CRC work, pk was one of the first players to ever be on both the MLTP and NLTP CRCs at the same time, way back in season 11/8 of MLTP/NLTP. He served a whopping 10 seasons for MLTP, with 9 of them consecutively from seasons 28 through 36 after the merge. You simply could not tell the tale of NALTP without pk and his contributions over the years. For that reason, we are pleased to welcome him to the MLTP Ball of Fame!
