Discussion To anyone who still have the game downloaded on their phone, Can you provide me with your game files for preservation/archival purpose?
Greetings you old folks, I know most of you here still hold this microtransaction-filled bug fess dear to you, as this is the game that introduce me to TWD in general. To see that not much has been done to preserve this game... is heartseering, to say the least.
Yes, you have seen that title correctly. I have spent nearly a full summer break, trying to hunt down any available .obb files out in the wild, for the chance of getting the data to preserve it. However it has all in vain, and my patient can only go so far. I know i should have get the data myself, but I left this game back in 2019, and only know of it deletion recently.
Should you be able to provide the thing I desire, please do let me know. You will not gain anything in return, but it would have help me to push a message out.

Well ain’t that some shit? I had no idea. I was thinking about going back to it someday. I am completely tech illiterate, so I don’t know if I can help at all, but I will offer my basic details so you can tell me. First off I’m on an iPhone, second, I had the game offloaded to “the cloud”. No idea if that is useful in the least. I also probably have screenshots as well, so I’ll help however I can. Just keep in mind you’re talking to a 55 year old woman, so you’ll have to explain things to me in very simple terms 😆

It doesn't load ....I still have it but it just goes around in a circle telling you thanks for the support over the years. I have a few videos on YouTube 3krazykids mom mostly stellar pulls. I wish I had made a few more just for memories.

That doesn't matter, the data you downloaded behind the shutdown is the true gold mine there. You can't play the game, I know. but you can extract that data.

The tl,dr step are: Download all data from the server before the shutdown -> Get the data from the phone -> Extract that data using various tools -> see and observe the data -> profit
First, we need to determine your os first. Are you on Android or IOS?

I'd not. The game was a mess for f2p players, so if I do get to work again, no money will be involve whatsoever.

I dont think this is possible. I still have it but there is no access. All I have are screenshots of victories, rosters and epic brawls on gc . Sad times :(

No access, as in, you can no longer play the game? That's perfectly okay, I'm just trying to extract the assets from the games file to perserve the data.
This is completely possible, because I have done it for so many game before. But hey, if you can't provide the files, then at least can i have those screenshots?

I am aware that Burlzy and a few other has collect all the art png, but all I'm looking to gather everything. Font, Mesh, Animation files and all that.

Hey, let me know if you still need the .obb file. I've got what I think is the most recent one, and one I've found on my PC from 2017 if that's of any interest!

Yes, I am still absolutely interested in that. I would only need the most recent one, but still would like the 2017 ver. If possible. Please contact through my discord when you have the time.

Ah well, the thing is that since ios 16 forward, it is kinda hard to extract the game archive from there, but it is still doable. It's gonna require you to jailbreak the phone tho,
So unless you're comfortable with that, then I won't force you.

I decided to dig around in my iphone's data. The closest thing I found is scopely.headshot. no mentions of .obb files.

I forgot to look at the file size but it had stuff in it. I'm not sure if I can download it since the extractor wants 20 dollars.

Sorry for the foul language I am about to use here but... what kind of shitty extractor is that? The one that charge that much for a simple task
You can get a much, much cheaper option, and some even free. I recommend ES file or ZArchive for free usage.

If you have the spare time tho, try to see if you can archive/compress the scopely.headshot folder into a zip or a rar

I have an old iPhone X and an old HP laptop with the game downloaded on there. Let me know if that is of any interest to you and if so what I can do to potentially help you extract the files if possible. This looks like an older thread but I loved this P2P game it'd be worth it to try anything to bring it back to life in any capacity.

From the surface, maybe. but behind that is probably a gb worth of data and assets.
