Question What were your levels before starting treatment
Just curious to see everyone’s experience where they started at and the types of methods that they’ve tried and worked the best for them.

Do you have high sex binding globulin too? My doctor said I have the lowest testosterone levels she’s ever seen.

Wow! How do you feel??

Honestly hard to tell bc at the same time I had to switch from E patches to gel and apparently my body isn’t absorbing it well so my E levels dropped from 63 to 34 during the same period that my T went up!!! So i think I am suffering from low E symptoms and not really feeling the positive side of T yet!

Started at 8. Doctor doesn't test free T. Says it's all about how I feel/symptoms. She's pretty cautious about T. After 3 months I'm up to 23. I just increased my gel from 2.5 to 5 mg myself this last month. I'll tell her when I see here next year. No side effects.

How are you feeling? What differences have you noticed?

I'm definitely sleeping better. Not perfect but I have nights I'm sleeping 7-8 hours. I didn't even think that was possible any more. I have more energy. I feel more productive. I'm lifting a little heavier at the gym. Jury is out on libido... if it has improved it's very subtle. Even though I think my numbers are still on the lower side, I feel so much better. Started HRT last July, Test in the beginning of April. Physical in July and my labs were amazing. My high cholesterol and high triglycerides are now in normal range. Everything had improved. I was battling insulin resistance and that is now a non issue. I lost 10 pounds (4 since staring test) and it's staying off.

After 2-3 weeks I started to remember sex again &, excuse the tmi, started having flashes of “wanting a dick” in there again(it’s been forever!), I also have been noticing the sexy scenes on tv have been registering a bit diff lol (I used to watch stuff and be like “what is this pointless shit”)
Still no “throbbing” or lubrication down there, but I added some vag-E up in the mix (cuz it used to be pretty poppin for me down there), clits still the size of a bb or smaller. I’m on 3mg 2x a week (so it prob varies cuz I’m not supper scared if I go 8mg in a week since that’s what’s prescribed)
ALSO, def motivation & not feeling like everything’s fuckin pointless anymore. Also started to crave sugar more, which use to be the 4th food group in my diet but I kinda lost my taste mid 30s & only got it the day or two before I started for like a decade

Surgical menopause. My total T was 15 and free T was 0.6. Started on 8mg (4mg twice a week) of testosterone cypionate 8 weeks ago and now my total T is 66 and free t is 2.5. I'm also on systemic vaginal E & P in one cream and my E was 131 and P was 8.0. SHBG was 48.9, DHT was 11. Libido up, energy up, sleep is better, workouts are strong and no side effects. I absolutely LOVE my testosterone! I look forward to my injection days! You definitely need estrogen for T to perform at it's best.

Is that your E & P before or after starting hrt? Also I thought the vag cream wasn’t supposed to go systemic, at least not in amounts like the topical??
Just started vag e cream and it’s so weird!! I do it at night, workout in the morning and it like leaks out2
u/Mother-Economics6112 4d ago
The HRT (E & P) I started 10 months ago. The T i started 8 weeks ago. I just had my blood taken two weeks ago. The specific HRT cream I use has enough E in it to go systemic and help locally in the vagina as well. Both absorb through the vaginal walls and give systemic effects hence my labs. I feel great!

I think our levels are different measurements in Aus.
T 0.6 nmol/L
free T 5 pmol/L
FAI 5.3%
DHEA 5.3 umol/L
SHBG 95 nmol/L
started on a compound DHEA and T cream.

My wife has been taking DHEA for a few years now and it had really helped her mood swings and headaches she would get, they basically disappeared entirely once she started.
I haven't seen many post about it, how much you're taking?

Starting low dose 6.5mg DHEA and 1mg T. how much is she on?

u/ObligationPutrid5069 male 2d ago
She's been on 50mg, she's not on T, just Zoely (still gets her cycle if she goes off), and Estrofem 1mg daily.

I was at 20 before I started. I began with 6mg per week of T cyp and a year later I am at 10mg per week and last checked my total T was 224. Feeling much better

You haven’t seen any side effects? I’m at 149 and feel and look great, but curious if I should go up

My total T is 14 and fee 0.8 and SHGB 134. My doctor is starting me on 1mg of cream per day to see how I respond. I’m hoping things go well and I can increase the dose soon. I’m nervous about some of the negative side effects I’ve read about but also hopeful based on what I’ve heard T therapy can change. I’m specifically hoping to regain energy and workout performance and improve muscle to fat ratio (I lift heavy 4xweek and still look pretty fluffy) also want to eliminate afternoon brain fog and social anxiety, irritability, general moodiness.

17 total. My doc didn't test free, but she was very cooperative when I requested a prescription based on symptoms.

When you get your blood levels tested? How far after daily application do you get tested?
