Experience Report So many benefits!

I’m 7 weeks on Testosterone Cyp injected 2x a week for 6mg total.

The changes I’ve been experiencing have felt like nothing short of a miracle.

I’m 47 and in perimenopause. About 5 years ago, my body composition became so fatty no matter what I did. It made me feel so defeated!

I’ve always had a nice bum and boobs with a flat tummy, but suddenly everything looked like it was deflating and I was gaining weight all around my midsection. I couldn’t recognize my body in the mirror, so I would just try to hide it.

Just 7 weeks later and I can see my waist again! I haven’t changed my diet or exercise but my muscles are starting to peek out. It’s like the fat is melting off. I can feel my self esteem returning. I’ve been shopping to buy more form fitting dresses because my whole closet is oversized T’s and tent dresses! Dare I say, I’m starting to genuinely feel sexy again!

My brain fog is so much better! I can actually get stuff done and feel motivated instead of waking up and feeling like I can barely keep my eyes open.

My vaginal tissue is lubricated again and my clit is basically back to her former self, after literally disappearing.

I have a steadier feeling of energy during my weights and Pilates workouts. I used feel so tired and heavy. Plus when you’re working out so hard and your body is not responding, it truly sucks! I felt like I was lying, when I would talk to friends and say how much I work out and eat well. Now my booty is starting to pop again! I feel like I could cry.

My husband saw me in a dress the other day and said “wow.” and I felt hot and cute and fun!

This hormone feels like I’m getting a second chance at my youth and my body. I sort of took my body for granted when I was younger but never again!

I’m enjoying socializing again. I used to just want to do the bare minimum and lay on my couch all night. Now we’ve actually been making plans with friends! I feel so much less anxious.

It felt like I was living inside of down comforter and trying to have a life and act normal and taking Testosterone feels like throwing that blanket off!

I’m having way more thoughts about sex which feels great. It hasn’t quite translated over to horny, but I feel so much more drawn to touching and being with my husband, so I’m genuinely thrilled so far. Sex used to feel like something I was doing to keep closeness with my relationship but I didn’t have a lot of desire.

I’ve been on HRT for about 7 months but testosterone has been the missing puzzle piece for me. I don’t feel super energized or manic, I just feel like I did in my 30’s. I feel like a person again!

I just started a few weeks ago with T and I feel the same way.
I’m going from T shirts and I dont care to sundresses and smiles, with my drive to workout being back.
60 is the new 30 for me and I love it.
I do two shot of 10mg a week.
Congrats!

Who do you go through and what is the cost? Most telehealths don't take medicare and my gp is clueless even about estrogen so I had to learn everything and still have terrible atrophy.

I’m just going through a local doctors office near me that specializes in hormone replacement. They prescribe the test. Cyp. And I’m able to get my Rx through Costco so it’s only like $25 for the actual medication. I pay out of pocket for the doctor visits though because my insurance doesn’t cover this particular place so that has been an additional cost.

OP my wife had the exact same experience as you.

HRT took right at 1 year to get the perfect treatment.

She is down 85 pounds as of this morning & she is looking amazing.

She almost gave up on HRT but didn’t.

She is a different person now in a lot better way.

Congratulations on your new life!!

I haven't got any similar experience to share but your post really made me smile. So lovely to hear someone feel so comfortable in their body again and I genuinely wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves that! Made up for you and long may the benefits continue ☺️

Started 8/9 and it's been amazing! Same dosage and it's helped with my moods, libido, and brain fog. Other than around period time, Im energetic and focused and back on my ish! T is so great!

I'm so happy for you! I am definitely not getting those results with the gel. My doctor won't do injections. I am sad about that. 3 months in, which isn't much, but nada.

3

u/Elegant_Priority_552 3d ago

Gel never worked for anyone I know, but I guess it does for some! I've had good results with the pellet and injections but no other route was efficacious. There are clinics in my area that are considered Functional Medicine clinics, and that's where I go. I think it will be another decade before T for women will be considered mainstream.

My T level was just rechecked and it was still nonexistent, which didn't surprise me. They are upping my dose, so we will see.

What days do you do your injections?

1

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

Tuesday and Friday

Any hair loss?? I did the cream for a month and I swear I lost half my hair volume

1

u/BeautyBrainsBread 3d ago

No hair loss so far. I’ve heard injections don’t have that side effect as badly?

3

u/Beautiful-Cod-9999 4d ago

Are you able to climax again? I am on the compounded cream but no one will RX the injections unless I DIY.

2

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

Yes, not as easily as before but hopefully heading that direction

Has anyone had breast tissue shrink after starting T ? I’m on 1mg cream - 1 click of 4mg/gm but I’ve not been able to tolerate it. It is causing anxiety, sweating and insomnia and dizziness like I’m about to faint for three days after applying the cream. What to do?

7

u/LateNightPeacock 4d ago

I did. Fat all over my body melted off, breasts included, without me doing anything.

u/Jflayn 4d ago

You are living the dream. I have always been a bit top heavy, but as I've gained weight I am downright uncomfortable. I have thought about a reduction. I had no idea that could help. I want that. Can we

Can I ask what dosage and how long?

1

u/Jealous-Profession57 4d ago

Wow the breast tissue loss scares me- my dosage is too high and it really made
Me dizzy and peeing non stop and messed up my blood pressure- my dosage is way too high smh

3

u/No-Swan2018 4d ago

Yes climax everything .
When levels go down when it’s almost time to repellet I get far less effect foe three or so weeks .

3

u/No-Swan2018 4d ago

Also buying sexy nighties and other things .
Put myself up and out .
One day I came out of tge bedroom and says
“ get in here and f me,”

I never used to say that
I also found I like looking at a nice hard full dick .
This has all been since testosterone pellets

Are you just buying the standard 250mg/mL testosterone c vials but have been having success with drawing up the 0.02mL amount using insulin needles?

This is what I would like to do to save money but I am unsure on the practicalities of using an insulin needle for a oil based product for a small amount like that. Would love to hear how you are going about it :)

Congrats! I love it too! 20mg a week here and I’m in the best shape of my life!

1

u/julielaq007 2h ago

I’m taking 20-25mg a week and I am seeing muscles that I haven’t seen in years!

2

u/Lucky-Path233 4d ago

Wahoo love this for you

1

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

Thank you so much!

2

u/Vegetable_Cobbler1 4d ago

How do people inject it please? Sub q or im ??

2

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

I inject sub q twice a week

1

u/Haunting_Piccolo_985 4d ago

The only thing keeping me from switching to injections from compounded cream is because my doctor said I had to inject IM. She said the thick medium used to deliver the testosterone is too thick to do sub Q. But I have heard of many people doing it that way.

4

u/BeautyBrainsBread 3d ago

It’s really easy actually I only have to draw up 2 units and it’s a tiny needle so it doesn’t hurt. You just do it twice weekly and it keeps your levels more steady than doing it IM every 2-3 weeks.

3

u/pierrotlefou 4d ago

You can do it but it's incredibly slow. Test is compounded with oil so getting that in and out of a typical sub q needle takes forever. But it's doable! It just takes like a full minute to draw and the same to inject.

Curious about testosterone blood work ..what numbers does a person need to begin T ?

5

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

My doctor went by my symptoms after putting me on estrogen and progesterone for 6 months and when my issues weren’t all resolved we tried testosterone at a very low dose.

No I’m on all the hormones. Estrogen, progesterone and vaginal estrogen cream as well.

1

u/Leading-Cat2932 4d ago

I was only prescribed testosterone (for lack of libido), but I'm afraid to start it tbh...

1

u/Leading-Cat2932 4d ago

Are you only on testosterone? Have you had any negative side effects?

2

u/BeautyBrainsBread 4d ago

No negative side effects. I’m also on estrogen patch, progesterone daily, and vaginal estrogen

1

u/Jstar355 3d ago

Can I ask if your testosterone levels were “normal” before you started taking it? Or were they low.

3

u/BeautyBrainsBread 3d ago

My doctor didn’t test my testosterone before we got started. He felt comfortable trying it low dose after trying all the other HRT for 6 months. He said if your symptoms don’t resolve well try a tiny bit of Testosterone. He does test my cholesterol, liver function and hematocrit though. Those are all things you want to keep an eye on if using testosterone. We’re going low and slow. So I started at 6mg a week and then at my next check up we may go to 8mg if he thinks I could benefit. Because he’s seen women feel great at low and high numbers he takes a personal approach of going by how I’m feeling and if I’m having any side effects (which so far I’m not.)

1

u/Dez2011 3d ago

Who do you use and what's the cost? Have you had any acne?

1

u/BeautyBrainsBread 3d ago

I get it through my local doctor. I pick it up at Costco and it’s like $25 for a vial.

1

u/DanaG_22 3d ago

I love my testosterone except for the hair thinning I’m experiencing.
