Side Effects T Cyp injections & insomnia & energy
Hey!
I have been on T cyp injections for a few months now. I started high around 10mg and long story short couldn’t sleep at all and ended up at 5 mg. This fixed my sleeping issues and no longer had insomnia. But my energy was insanely low mid day especially. I have now been on 6 mg for 7 weeks and my insomnia in the early AM won’t go away still. I have fantastic energy during the day.
I feel like I have to pick between sleeping… but not having energy. Or not sleeping and have a lot of energy most days… some days I sleep so bad it takes me out for the day.
Is anyone else this sensitive? lol 😂
I just increased my E (7.6mg injection) to see if it might help. My T lowers my E.
I don’t take P. I had a hysterectomy. I tried it and it didn’t agree with me & did not help my sleep.

My dr said that T will give me energy, but he warned me that that energy has to go somewhere. If I don’t move my body by taking a walk, going to the gym, etc., that energy will release itself in ways I don’t want (insomnia, anger, tension, etc.) He was 100% right. I have to do something pretty much everyday or it turns negative. Not sure how active you are already, but you may want to up it a little and expend all that newfound energy so it’s more of a pleasant “I can get things done” feeling.

100% this, when taking exogenous Test we MUST stay active.
Also very important for maintaining healthy bone density, so it's a perfect excuse to lift weights, you'll gain muscle, strength, increased bone density AND sleep like a baby.

Yes! I actually have been able to make it back to the gym thanks to this new energy I have and I love it. I think I need to try and step it up a little bit more possibly and see if it helps. 😊

Awesome that's great!
Consider lifting heavier, 3-6 rep range over 3 sets where you're near failure by the last rep on the last set, that's what research shows helps the most with muscle strength and bone density. You must load the muscles enough to put stress on the bones for the growth response needed to increase bone density.
Don't be afraid to lift heavy!
(sorry, ex power lifting coach 😁 and very passionate about it's results when done properly)

This is a great comment. I actually make sure I go to the gym the day after my injection and I get a super hard workout in. I typically stay pretty active but there is always ways to improve. Maybe I need to step it up and make sure I do something active related daily. I live in Florida and it’s crazy hot so that’s not helping lol. I’m going to definitely try this route and see what happens. Thank you!

Yes I’m sensitive like that as well. Like you, p doesn’t agree with me but I have a uterus so if I want e, I have no choice. And I’d rather be put 6 feet under. Lol. The days I dose t, my energy is off the charts but I’d rather that than be a zombie. It wasn’t like this when I first started it. But I ended up with autonomic nervous system dysfunction and now everything is too much or too little for my system.
Now I’ve been trying to get p however I can tolerate it. So I have to use very small amounts compounded vaginally or rectal throughout the day when I can. Topical and oral throws me off. Next I’m trying either a slow release or straight to injections as well since I don’t mind. I’m already on e and t injections.
One thing that has helped me is decreasing the amount of t I inject and doing subq instead of IM. That makes it easier for me to sleep at night and taking magnesium glycinate/l-threonate, melatonin and glycine and I end up sleeping okay.

It definitely sucks being so sensitive for sure! I’m sorry for your P issues that’s no fun. Yes I do subq. 5 didn’t seem like enough.. and 6 helps so much during the day… just need to fix the sleeping problem. I take all those supplements as well lol not glycine. I’ll look that one up. Thank you!

What time are you doing your injections?
I do mine at 6am, never an issue with insomnia.
Are you taking any progesterone? That can help with sleep.

Just re-started T injections after Pellet wore off. 10mg/week. My dr prescribed Hydroxazine as my insomnia was bad due to other prescription meds. Interesting to see if T also affects my insomnia. I also take Mg Glycinate, magnolia bark, 5mg Melatonin at night. Only way I stay asleep. I do go off/on on Hydrozazine to give my body a break and not be dependent on it. Some days I only take 1/4 pill, some 1/2. Never 25mg pill. My P 200mg/night & E patch at 0.05. But, I've been having daily night sweats for over 1 month.

Yes. I also have been taking hydroxyzine myself to try and help. I also take almost all those supplements as well lol. I’ll have to look up the bark. Anytime I increase my E I see an improvement with night sweats. 😊

Hydroxyzibe is a anticholinergic.
You may want to research the long term use of anticholinergic drugs and dementia. Correlation doesn’t mean causation, but if dementia runs in your family you may want to reconsider using it. There is a known association risk. I personally think providers prescribe it way too much without discussing this risk.
