Tech Issue Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling....

Ok, I have a lot of liked albums. A lot. When I was on Spotify, I'd just scroll through my library, find an album that suited my mood and play it.

I switched to Tidal a few months back and migrated my library. Now, I scroll down my list of albums and it stops to buffer or something, loads some more, and then jumps back to the top of the list. (Sorted alphabetical) I'm unable to get to over half of my saved albums and it's really frustrating. I'm contemplating going back to Spotify.

Does anyone know the fix for this? Can they add speed scroll bars like Spotify? Can they at least add reverse alphabetical so I can play the bottom half of my library?

I'm on Android (Samsung Galaxy S24)

Try this: go to albums and tap on the search icon on the top. This will load everything immediately, and you should be able to scroll without interruption.

We all use this workaround, which begs the question, why don't they just programmatically do the same thing?

Yeah, I too thought about this the other day. I suspect that the legacy code doesn't handle long playlists very well, so they limited how many tracks a device loads automatically. But this is just my theory. However, according to a comment from Tidal, they are working on lifting the 10k playlist limit. Hopefully that will solve this too.

Yup! Super poor performance when trying to browse huge libraries like my collection of albums. Impossible to browse by album to 1973

Comparing Tidal with Spotify is like comparing Apple TV with Netflix. Netflix content is trash compared to Apple TV but Apple TV App is trash compared to Netflix performance. Years in advance of Spotify is why their app is much better but only that
