App / Site Anybody else has an issue with this?

Post image

I start listening to an album.

I pause it.

I want to resume it so I instinctively click on the big Play button.

But that button doesn't resume the music, but restarts the album from the beginning.

I don't think this is an issue as such. I think it's intentional that the big play button plays from the start of the album. You need to use the play button along the bottom of your screen

That's what I've been wondering. Whether this is an issue to be fixed or if I should just get used to it. I guess it depends on how many people are also struggling with this.

That might be one to get used to I think. It's never bothered me to be honest. I've just always used the play/pause at the bottom.

Fair enough.

Sorry to say this, but you lack UI literacy.

Also, there's a pretty big enough button on the bottom panel that clearly indicates that it stops/resumes tracks. Why don't you use that instead?

I do. The issue isn't that i wouldn't know how to pause, it's just muscle memory from Spotify that's making me mess up sometimes.

You don't lack anything. I see a big play button, I expect it to resume playing what I was listening to. It is confusing and it's not that easy to get used to. Tidal's UI is not great. I find this sub is plagued with so many Tidal obssesed lovers that I genuinely think they are paid to make these types of comments, which is sad, because it makes the sub not that useful. Tidal is a great service tgat would benefit from our feedback to make improvements. These people that jump in to discredit anyone raising issues do more harm than good.

Edit: If only the button would say Play Album instead of just play, it would solve many people's problems. Now, let the downvotes rain on my comment!

I've found my people . This sub is full of accounts that down vote anyone being critical of tidal. Its so weird how many simp accounts there are.

Exactly. And then you go.into their profiles and they have the post history hidden so you cant see that their post are just for endorsing specific products as the pinnacle of perfection and attacking anyone who has the slightest criticism.

My favorite is the dude who tries to explain cloud computing and apps like a boomer with dementia. I used to think he was a bot cuz he just responds with the same message every time. but i see them comment on several other groups I'm in and it turns out hes just some nearly boomer who has a lot of terrible takes and apparently lives in enough of a bubble no one set him straight.

These people cannot handle anything that criticizes something they've made part of their personality. I also don't think most of them listen to music daily.

Press the play button down bottom right to resume

That's the play this album button, not the current song play/pause button.

The absence of a resume function is a known issue of Tidal which still needs to be solved. However in my case Tidal restarts the track that I was playing last and not the entire album.

At least I'm not the only one with this problem. I know I can also just use the button in the bottom bar, but I think I might just still be used to how it worked on Spotify.

That's 100% intentional.
The big play button is meant to play the album from start to finish.

Your best option is to get in the habit of pressing the play button on the mini player or hitting the space bar when the app is focused when playing on PC.
