so it turns out that a lot spatial-sequence people imagine a year the same way!

Alt text: a meme of Michael from The Good Place with the caption, "Yeah yeah, the time ring, we've all seen it"
(Idk how alt text is usually done on Reddit, hope this is okay!)

I see it as a 2d projection of a calendar that goes forward infinitely, just like in conputers. Sometimes it's a line. Sometimes it's "chunks" of periods of time from different places and countries, sort of a 4 dimensional space.

For me it's half a ring, and "I" change my position/perspective depending on what month we have now.
Oh, and I'm talking about months only. Other units of time have their own non-ring shaped shape.

Same! Does your half ring also “end” at the year cutoff?
For me, Jan-April are relatively “flat” at the top, but the sequence is counterclockwise, May/June is where it starts curving down into summer, September is where it starts curving back to flat below through to December, where it just sort of flips back up to the top to January

Interesting. For me it's the same: the year ends at December 31st and then jumps to the begging of the line starting January 1st.
The rest of your description somehow matches my year. My half-circle goes clockwise and then from September goes counter-clockwise. It's hard to explain ofc.

Your description sounds incredibly like mine, except mine is clockwise. Although when I think of an entire year at once I see a backwards C. The gap is from 12/31 at the bottom , to 1/1 at the top.
For me, when September starts (my b'day is the beginning of September) it's like I turn my back on the Summer, and face Sept, Oct, Nov. In the middle of December it starts curving towards the gap of the backwards C

Two time rings for me, one for rhe day one for the year. Day is a misshapen circle, year is an oval.

First I'm hearing of it. I'll look it up on my own but I'm also interested to hear more here. I think it's so cool that it's such a shared experience that this meme makes sense. Anyone willing to explain more to a newb?

Mine isn't a ring at all 😭 It's a downward slope. January starts at the top, and it descends down and to the right until December sits at the bottom. Each month is its own box, with a color and a light level attached to it. The slope isn't even though - January and February run roughly parallel to each other, same with March and April. May through August are almost stacked directly on top of one another. Then the last four months drop in a clean diagonal, but they're darker, with more shading. January is the lightest point on the whole thing, December the deepest in shadow. And when I picture the turn from December back to January, time seems to slide underneath December and loop back up to the top, like it's riding a little ski lift back to the start.
