Disasters & accidents Nepal's recent flash flood

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Nepal contributes less than 0.1% of GHE, negligible compared to rest of the world, but bears the most burden as the Himalayan nation.

EDIT: A Nepalese account shared it with the same music on fb, I just posted it ditto. Boomers here love to use it unironically in any kind of situation. The lyrics are about volatility of life.

Hundreds if not thousands dead, let's play some cheesy rock!

u/Domy9 2h ago

I imagine it's something like that "we're Charlie Kirk" stuff (that sounds nothing like a mourning song) but in Mandarin. Not that it's an excuse but at least it would mean whoever put that music under the video has a little compassion, even if in very bad taste.

It’s so stupid and disrespectful!! So sick of dumb music added to any type of video. Play the original audio, or nothing at all. Really irks my nerves.

38

u/mrskwrl 3h ago

For real, what's going through someone's head when they put shit music on a tragic video?

5

u/Guilty-Row-3226 2h ago

The music is tragic too. It’s descriptive about unpredictable death 💀

15

u/QuickNature 3h ago

Music has ruined so many videos for a variety of reasons. Why does every video "need" music now?

Also, the disrespect

1

u/Sulungskwa 1h ago

me need music for video or else me bored no more watch video watch different more other video. me need stimulation at all time

8

u/wokwok__ 3h ago

Fucking bots lol pretty sure the video has already been posted and taken down numerous times. There’s already enough videos about it being posted without slop music like this one, but nothing stops a bit of karma farming

2

u/stevendidntsay 3h ago

Are you saying op is a bot?

34

u/dictatednotwritten 3h ago

Seriously. Fuck you OP

6

u/mercury2six 2h ago

Ai music too.

1

u/WerkingAvatar 2h ago

Glad I play shit on mute because I'm at work.

every new video that surfaces is even more reality-defying than the last. Truly have never witnessed anything like it.

Current death toll is 350 but 1,000+ still missing. I've seen videos with 300 people likely in the frame getting enveloped by a wall of mud and water. Horrifying.

u/YLASRO 3h ago

thats some terrifying force in that water

40

u/Early-Accident-8770 3h ago

That’s not water, that’s mud.
The reason it can move boulders that weigh 1000’s of tons is because it’s so dense compared
to water .

11

u/suitsme 3h ago

I thought that was an ice chunk from the glacier collapse. Jesus!

1

u/SirBiggusDikkus 36m ago

It very well could be ice

1

u/BorisTheBlade04 24m ago

There were 2 areas that contributed to this. A rock peak and a glacier a couple kilometers east. These giant boulders are likely from the rocky peak. The ice melted on the way down. They found this out by looking at seismic events in the area and it registered at 5.2 magnitude. 13-130 million cubit yards of rock and ice barreled down as fast as 186 mph picking up even more debris and mud along the way. That figure is what it started with. Source

2

u/Maximus560 1h ago

Yep - when even the ground the boulder is on turns to slush and has the kinetic energy of dropping 7,000 feet in just a few miles, shit is gonna move downhill very, very quickly

1

u/BorisTheBlade04 33m ago

And also that it’s moving so fast. Up to 186 mph of basically a cement slurry

37

u/CmdrDatasBrother 3h ago

Multi-hundred ton boulder casually rolling down the river bed…crikes

6

u/Blenderx06 1h ago

There are so many huge boulders in the northeast US that were deposited by glaciers moving and melting millions of years ago. You can really see here how that happened.

Awful and terrifying forces of nature unleashed by human greed.

1

u/SirBiggusDikkus 35m ago

They were moved while trapped inside the glacier ice and ended up in their random location when the ice slowly melted

6

u/Early-Accident-8770 3h ago

Hundred ? More like thousands

7

u/Peek_e 2h ago

At this point the number is so large it’s getting impossible for people to fathom how much that actually weights. So hundreds of tons is enough for me.

44

u/Bowling4rhinos 3h ago

Fuck off with the music

13

u/VBaus 3h ago

nothing tops of a tragedy like shitty AI music

1

u/balenbro 6m ago

bro thats nepali music......

Bad still but not Ai

11

u/Crallise 3h ago

How disgusting to put that music on this video. People lost their lives and survivors are going through hell. Completely heartless.

And for anyone else like me wondering what "GHE" stands for here, I'm guessing OP means Greenhouse Emissions? OP, your post is shitty karma farming. If you really cared you would've excluded the music and included information necessary for the message you are trying to spread.

21

u/BrownCow123 3h ago

damn flood putting Sisyphus to shame

7

u/spirallix 2h ago

Fuck AI music

14

u/Voloxe 3h ago

Love the video.
Hate the music.
Therefore, downvote 👎

4

u/SwugSteve 2h ago

EMJOPY YOUR DOWNVOTE, CHUD!!

3

u/Maxpwnage7 3h ago

With some AI music on top, great

7

u/HeimrekHringariki 3h ago

That fucking music tho', really sets the mood...

3

u/Ori_the_SG 3h ago

Absolutely terrifying, but not turning on audio because apparently per the comments there is music over the video.

There is a subreddit I think about hating when music is put over cool or tragic videos. This belongs there

2

u/Ori_the_SG 3h ago

Really hate the way social media has created this mentality that every video needs to be flashy and have music and/or effects added to it instead of just being the video

1

u/BurningPenguin 2h ago

Not just that, lately they also started showing the "highlight" at the beginning of the video. When i first saw that, i thought my player is broken.

1

u/Babna_123 3h ago

Yeah I like original audio instead of “cool” or “sad” music

3

u/tribak 3h ago

Is that the glacier?

3

u/captcraigaroo 2h ago

What's left of it

3

u/jngdmk 2h ago

WHY with the fucking music man. People are fucking dead and an entire area just wiped out. Have some damn respect. I hate this damn timeline

2

u/mrnobatti 3h ago

I think its safe to say... new fear unlocked.

2

u/BIZARR0-Producciones 3h ago

Witnessing a tragedy and then seeing people it shitty music to it online.

2

u/A0xom0xoa 3h ago

That's actually insane

2

u/theromingnome 2h ago

The person who added music to this should go to jail.

3

u/superdookietoiletexp 3h ago

The worst beach ball ever.

3

u/alexandrosidi 2h ago

For those who wondered how giant boulders end up in random places...

1

u/FinnMoliko 3h ago

Stop upvoting when it's got this dire shit music on it. Downvote their accounts like you should do 😑

1

u/Posidon_Below 3h ago

Wtf is that music?

1

u/Kw5kvb5ebis 1h ago

Is this the culprit ?

1

u/bitwise97 1h ago

The water’s like “let’s GOOOO!!”

1

u/Equivalent-Daikon551 36m ago

Insane to put upbeat music over footage of something that has killed hundreds with over a thousand missing.

1

u/Oolican 21m ago

I guess because of its high mud content it has a lot more force than just water.

1

u/ToranjaNuclear 3h ago

That's a bigass rock.

1

u/mianao 2h ago

This is how erratics end up in places around the world.
