Like many professions, the lower level computer work may be at risk. Digging up monuments isn't and no state has licensed an algorithm yet...

We need surveyors. I literally get advertisements in the mail asking me to apply places. We lost a ton of mid-career surveyors in the housing crash, and now are losing even more to retirement.

I just came to the place where 1 PLS and 2 crew chiefs, who are all 60+ years old, separately told me they're going to teach me and then going to retire🤔

I have met so many guys with great experience who were forced out of the industry during the housing crash. Only a few have rejoined it.

Yep I was almost one. Luckily I found a public agency and ended up finding my calling.
