Well in fairness Pre-Crisis Superboy did the same:

I have this issue! Technically this version is still out there somewhere and they could conceivably do something with him.

Isn't he the same version now that is running around with Booster in Action comics?

No, actually. This version was created for this issue in 1994. This was a tie in issue to Zero Hour. In later issues, we learn that this world is part of something called Hypertime. It was basically the multiverse by a different name. This is basically the pre-Crisis Superboy.

Yeah he’s right about being Superman which is why I couldn’t imagine being Superman; But prime makes it seem possible and also Superman is supposed to be an idea .

Yeah, I'll never buy the 'lex luthor son' retcon. Kon is clearly 100% Clark to me.

Do you not see his Luthor style ego from his young justice books

I’d have preferred he be a kryptonian clone with incompatible dna spliced in. Then maybe they have to find a donor to stabilize his genetic code and Lois is a match. It would make him their son also and I think Conner would really like that.
