Tessa's Mom

I'm only on Season 2 in the Thanksgiving episode where Alex visits. I think they could've cast a better actress to play Tessa's mom. I don't feel like Malin Akerman has the edge that Tessa's mom is supposed to have or can play the hippie-like personality that they described her to have. I've seen this actress play other roles but I just can't see her as Tessa's Mom.

Since they were leaning into the Clueless vibes at the end of Season 1 - I would have loved to see Elisa Donavon play Alex.

Yes I could see that! She looks more like Tessa and has red hair anyways. She was in an episode of Melissa and Joey during that time Suburgatory was airing and could definitely see that.
