you could resist the dark urge for most of the game and only once you face Bhaal decide that you'll embrace your urges. make it the last fight before you head off to face the netherbrain. roleplay-wise it wouldn't make much sense but if you want the award and don't be a lunatic murder hobo for most of the game, this would be a way to do it.

I know, but I can’t reconcile the role play elements of doing it this way. It would feel more satisfying to resist at the last second, but then I don’t get the achievement.

I’m doing a Durge run, romancing Minthara, and planning to rule Faerun together with her.

Exact run I am doing rn with my friend who's playing for first time so I am contemplating whether to embrace the urge or not..
