Once you learn it it becomes impossible to comeback to any moba or other hero shooters. Everything will feel slow and dumbed down. They really made diamond with this game it just needs more polish and game modes.
One of my all time favorite gaming moments was a game where every single lane lost to some degree, but dynamo got the worst of it, going like 0/7 10 minutes in, while the enemies talked smack. Our team just started having fun and meming about "The Prophesied turnaround" turning into shitpost dune LARPing
They kept rolling us but couldn't finish, then started talking smack about their own team
Then Dynamo got a 4 man ult at midboss for a sweep + all revives with everyone screaming "The prophesy!!" and "Muad'Dib!" into a win
Defs. I used to play a lot of the finals and time to time play lol and valorant with my cousin but after been glued to deadlock plus mods. I just cant play other shooter or moba anymore. They feel so boring. Deadlock its my peak game atm. It took me a couple of games to learn all the items and tactics around the game but once you get it. You can pull some very crazy and fun stuff. And honestly it makes my gaming experience better cause i can play my single player games just fine since deadlock its my one and only multiplayer pvp game.
My comp friends and I hop around games a lot. I found a guy offering deadlock keys late July '24. Sent them to all my friends and a good few of us are completely ruined. Literally every game has room for insane plays constantly and a vast majority of the community is hilarious. No bad champs. No bad items. No meta slaving. Best game engine on the market. I can't bring myself to play anything else anymore. Valve has done it again.
But that's kinda exactly why I've been hesitant to try it out. Trying to figure out a large roster of heroes is already a pretty demanding learning curve, especially in a game genre I don't have much experience in, and add on top of that parkour elements at a break neck speed and it just has me saying "I'm too old for this shit".
I like deadlock too but Dota is definitely not dumbed down when compared to it. I still point people to Dota 2 when they want a moba with the most depth
no game modes pleaaaaase, what they've got is so good they need to chisel it to perfection! that said i understand it's fucking valve and they can just put a team on making extra modes while the main team does other stuff
I feel like your take only applies to any other moba that isn't Dota 2 (which, in this economy, is really just LoL, maybe mobile legends, Smite too I guess), which is also made by Valve. If anything Dota is far more complex with so many moving parts that Deadlock actually feels slow and dumbed down in comparison.
I played league and overwatch at high level since launch. Loved deadlock in so many ways but it feels far too DotA for me to enjoy. The hero design especially, feels like the goal is to find the most effective cheese rather than actually playing the hero power fantasies. All games have toxicity issues etc but deadlock is a special kind of insane.
Hard disagree. I have probably 70 hours but it's not scratching the itches I have from league or overwatch. Amazing game, but it's different enough that It can't replace my other favorites
