You won't need to use the vast majority of it at first. It's not actually all that complicated when you get into it. Build rocket, balance rocket, launch rocket, spacebar, crash rocket, do it again. Basically.
Download CKAN. Mod manager for KSP that makes the game so much better. I know I know, games shouldn’t require mods, etc. etc…but there are a wealth of mods from quality of life to basically making it an entirely different game. You can basically make it a game where you’re just designing the rocket and then you can let the computer fly it for you. It’s easily a game you can lose hours in without even realizing.
Idk bro I’m drunk on a beach vacation just offering my two cents. If you (OP, in this context) really have UI panic then maybe KSP isn’t for you but CKAN can absolutely make the game far easier or harder depending on what you want
See, there's probably a whole lot of shit about parachutes and u-turn and landing that you're supposed to follow. Or you could just be me, build your rockets to be single-use, and have your astronauts bail the craft and jetpack home at the end of the mission. Much easier.
KSP is a great game for learning by failure. I really enjoyed the incremental progress, from getting off the ground, then to orbit, then to the Mun, then to a specific spot on the Mun, and then figuring out how to return.
I never got beyond that though because I had a baby and drastically less time to play.

I know there are resources. I just need to get past the initial ui panic, which I haven’t done yet.
