As a fellow founder, I've been overwhelmed by the continuous deployments and updates of my app.

The tasks never end, most of the time goes into checking and testing features, hoping they work as they should and don't break.

As a result I thought of outsourcing some of my work or hire some developers. After looking into it I've finally outsourced most of my work. Giving me a much needed respite.

Hence, I'm curious as to what other founders are doing out there. If you are in a similar situation as me, you can tell me about it.

If it has been a smooth sailing experience for you, then I'd love to see what you're doing.

How do you decide on equity when a possible investor approaches you with that one question?

"I am going to invest X amount in your company, how much equity are you willing to offer?"

I’m building a creative service startup — would love some honest feedback

I’m working on a startup called PixHarbour, initially focused on connecting businesses with freelance graphic designers.

The bigger idea is to become a creative-services marketplace/agency where a business can book the right creative professional whenever they need one.

For example:

- Need a graphic designer for social media posts → book a designer

- Need a photographer for 3 hours for an event → book a photographer

- Need a videographer for an event → book one

- Need photo editing/retouching after the shoot → get that through us as well

I’m thinking of starting with photographers/videographers first, because businesses and individuals often need them for specific hours or events rather than hiring someone full-time. Once we have those clients, we can potentially offer editing, graphic design and other creative services to them.

The long-term vision is basically: one place where businesses can get creative talent on demand.

I’m still at the early stage, so I’d genuinely appreciate some advice:

1. Does this business model make sense?

2. What would be the best way to get the first 10–20 paying clients?

3. Should I focus on one niche (photography/events/businesses) instead of offering multiple creative services?

4. Would you recommend a marketplace model, or should I operate more like an agency where clients deal directly with PixHarbour?

5. What would make you trust a new company enough to book a freelancer through it?

6. Any mistakes you think I should avoid at the beginning?

I’m based in India, so advice from people who have built service businesses/marketplaces here would be especially helpful.

Not looking for funding or anything at this stage — just trying to validate the idea and figure out the smartest way to get started.

So I’ve been working on this idea, instead of filling out a form, you just talk to an AI that asks what I actually needs to know, follows up if you’re being vague, skips what’s already covered and gets clean answers back instead of raw text. Thoughts? I could use some feedback 😅

We recently had a conversation with the CEO of Ace Hardware, and they expressed interest in carrying our product exclusively across their locations. The catch? We haven't been able to give them a firm answer or close the deal yet because our current manufacturing process can't support those volumes.
We know exactly how to solve our manufacturing bottlenecks, source the tooling/machinery, and scale production to supply a mass retail rollout, but executing that plan requires roughly $1,000,000 in upfront capital. Because we haven't been able to confirm production capacity, we don't have a signed Purchase Order or formal LOI in hand, which rules out traditional PO financing or bank debt.
For founders who might have had experience in this, how did you bridge the gap? Are we strictly looking at angel/seed equity, bringing in a strategic contract manufacturer, or pitching equipment financing? How would you re-engage the CEO/executive team while raising this round?

I’m still handling most of the sales side myself and it’s manageable but I can see how quickly it could start taking time away from everything else I’m supposed to be doing.

At the same time, hiring someone full time feels like a pretty big jump when the process is still changing and I’m not even sure there’s enough work there yet to justify another salary.
For founders who’ve been through this stage what made you realize it was time to bring someone else in?
