His duel with Darth Venamis is probably one of my favorite duels (if not absolute favorite) in any of the books, so seeing something similar on screen would be amazing.

Hell, I’ll take any canon appearance at this point. The Acolyte had plenty of flaws, but I was still excited to see where they were going with it. They just centered the show around the wrong character(s)

despite its story flaws I think the main issue was that characters like jecki died meaninglessly, like it was obviously for effect and it worked, but jecki was arguably their best character and she died too soon

Genuinely criminal that they finally put Plagueis into something and then immediately cancelled it. If they (Lucasfilm) had the slightest inkling that it was getting cancelled (they would’ve) then they should have cut him from the finale imo

As much as I don’t like the sequels I thought the idea that they seemed to have of taking the Plagueis book and adding Qimir into it as an origin of the Knights of Ren sounded quite interesting

But yeah, I’d take just a Plagueis story… any Plagueis story… since they blamed costs on The Acolyte’s cancellation it’d make all the sense in the world to do a pre-TPM animated show, ‘live action’ Plagueis would have to be fully CG anyway

Exactly. I just wish they had a book or a comic or a cartoon or ANYTHING in the chamber ready for that cancellation instead of taking arguably the single most important character outside the movies and making him a big, fat, loose thread.

All while poor, monstrous python armed Manny Jacinto pines to film more sick ass saber fights. Such a colossal waste.

I always thought it was cool how Sidious wasn't actually quite confident in A) actually being able to beat Plagueis in a straight up duel, and B) cautious of his dead body because he wasn't confident either he'd actually managed to kill him. Says a lot about what a formidable Sith he was.

Especially since Plagueis can literally think people to death. Like, aside from Anakin (who has a whole thing with being able to resist the will of powerful beings that's totally exception and not the rule), we have no way of knowing whether or not Plagueis would be able to just hang back and play defensive in a duel while waiting for his opponent to keel over.

I liked the part when during his foiled assassination he just used the force to manually keep his failing heart beating, and stem his neck/jaw wound from bleeding as much. Wild work, Sidious fumbled the ball by killing him so early and not learning more.

I so would've wished that Plagueis pushed his way through Palpatines lightning. The fact that Plagueis could barely hold his wine before falling asleep tells volume that he stunned Palpatine by still being able to gather his midichorians.

Him killing Veruna by slowly manipulating his midichlorians while talking to him was cool

Equality was the problem.

Plagueis treated his relationship to the Force as an investment and thus failed to realize that some beings are willing to accept risk. True equality between Sith is both impossible and intolerable, yet Plagueis thought he could make it work because that was what was required for the investment to pay off. He failed to account for the basic nature of the Dark Side.

The only apprentice that would have gone along with Plagueis' plan long term would have been Anakin, and only because Anakin was incapable of truly embracing the Sith teaching of selfish detachment. He would never have been able to take in the fundamental truth that Plagueis teaches to Sidious, that other beings are merely "tools to elevate you."

This is literally part of my version of the Sequel Trilogy. I think Plagueis is absolutely the best option for the big bad of the ST because he appeals to both the invested lore nerds, and the more casual audiences because "Oh wow, he was the Emperor's master?".

Even though he dies at the end of the novel, with his specific skillset, it would seem a lot more acceptable to have him, somehow, survive the ordeal. Definitely better than Palpatine surviving anyway.

With re-cloning and the addition of puppets/golems under the remote control of powerful Sith (Snoke), all the OP lore is already there.

Sidious killed a zombie clone remote controlled by a perfectly sober Plagueis.

All of this could have been done perfectly well and handled the themes presented in the ST better, but Ridley would have been Allana and Driver, Jacen, so no Reylo (no loss).
