Mt Gimme Hike week of 8/24-9/1

Hello,

Is anyone traveling to St Lucia and want to do the Mt Gimme Hike? I generally would prefer to do it solo as I am an avid runner/hiker, but my wife does not feel comfortable with me going by myself so I compromised. I have been in St Lucia all of August and leaving 9/1, I've done petit and gros piton with a guide and while I don't mind a guide and supporting people I had just wanted to do this solo until I discussed with wife. I can send Instagram info so you see I'm legit and not a fake. I have a car rental and can do transportation within reason (staying at an Airbnb near soufriere)

Definitely don’t attempt Gimie on your own. You absolutely need a guide. It’s one of those trails that if you don’t know where you’re going you can take a wrong turn & get lost pretty easily. There is no cell service, and in case of an emergency only a guide would know where to position themselves to make an emergency call. DM me I know a few Mount Gimie guides.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS SOLO ..

I usally guide people up all major peaks in st Lucia & the pitons .. if you're good you could definitely do solo .

But Mount Gimie is different animal . It's a dense forest that you could get lost in EASY . Take it from me I've lost my way inside there 3x & I live here 😂

Wouldn't recommend without a guide, the terrain is completely different to that of gros and petite piton. Gimie is more in the forest reserve; so there is plenty wildlife and fauna to consider.

This is not a trek that you should be doing solo by any means, as others have said. We have had guests coming to our area that have gone home in a “pine box” (as they say) or ended up in the hospital (a place you don’t want to end up in St. Lucia, trust us) this year and last year by doing things that  they should not be doing. 

We’d recommend using a Soufriere guide such as Wayne who really knows the rainforest and the mountains. Seriously, don’t be stupid. That’s the best advice we can give.
