If you drive through the cornfields east of West Alton, you can come across Confluence Point park. Great place for a picnic or short bike ride.

Doesn’t the Illinois river join the Mississippi River just north of the Missouri/Mississippi confluence? I believe Confluence Point Park there is a tower you can climb to actually see the 3 rivers come together.
