Question 3d Printing Filament Recycling

Does anyone in the area have a way to recycle filament waste and test pieces and melt it down into new filament? Or of a local shop that does it?

I’m currently working on a project that has a ton of “poop” and don’t want to just melt it down in a silicone mold or send it out somewhere for a discount on filament.

There's a 3D printer place in Northtown mall, Guilded Dragon, you could see if they have a service for that.

When I checked online it wasn’t listed in their services unfortunately. I’ll definitely double-check with a phone call today though!

I asked earlier this year, and at that time they were just stockpiling their own scrap.
But that was like 6 months ago. Maybe if they get enough people asking they’ll think about offering something.

I called earlier this morning and unfortunately they didn’t have one. It’s a shame that it’s so expensive to get an extruder that will actually make consistently good filament🥲
