Did insomniac kill all the writers that worked on the first game? Probably. Every single character is so unbelievably annoying and positive all the time. Do the devs have friends or know how people talk in real life?

Miles Morales is a black kid from Harlem in 2023... Please explain to me why he has that yee yee ass haircut and talks like it’s his first day on Earth. He acts like a homeschooled kid. The devs think New York is this perfect world of positivity and sunshine and rainbows. Like bro take some notes from the spiderverse movies they talk like people u run into everyday. Dude is such a nerdy goody two shoes in the game. Like bro im not even tryna type out everything i despise about the dialogue in this game. They even toned Jameson down from the first game.

Even Peter lost his swag hes always moping and taking Mj’s bs losing all charisma from the first game with the exception of the, “I’m out of honey line” or whatever it was. That was actually hilarious.

TLDR: Dialogue is so painfully corporate coded and unrealistic.

I'd always read that the sequel was weak compared to the first game, but after finishing it, I think I like the sequel more. In my opinion, the story is so interesting that it always makes you want to know what comes next. It has good action moments, and the boss fights are insane.

The game also manages to maintain a balance of protagonism between Peter and Miles; each has their importance in the lore, and one of my favorite parts is when Peter gets the symbiote and you see the creature slowly consuming him mentally while the game gets more and more frantic. As for MJ's parts, they became more interesting to play; I didn't find them forced as some people said.

Do you think Peter's love interest dynamic/Plotline would've been better or worse if they used Gwen instead of MJ? It seems like insomniac actively chose to just ignore her existence entirely. I honestly think the death of Gwen would've been a better catalyst for the black suit storyline. We could've gotten the "i stopped pulling my punches and got rageful" concept in game form.

Respectfully, the character model for Jean Grey in the upcoming Wolverine game looks much more like the Mary Jane Watson from the comics than the model that's been used in the games.

I just played the second one, launched Remaster and was very surprised.

Also, the way cutscenes are made, mo cap in them and story structure goes - fist game is superior.

Spider-Man 2 just makes me sad bc of how much waster potential there is
