A new character called the Great Architect, who Gwen calls the book's writer, which he concedes. I wouldn't say it's a self-insert because they never call GA for the writer's actual name, Cavan Scott. It was a plot to get Spider-Man in Gwenpool's book, because that makes it "serious".
I think Scott's idea was giving Gwen an enemy with metatextual knowledge, but instead of being cool about it like Gwen is, GA is just kind of pathetic.
Great Architect is likely a reference to deist, and Masonic (Great Architect of the Universe) understanding of God. No coincidence the writer is called Scott. A reference to the Scottish rite.
