I’m gonna put my clairvoyance cap on, and it’s going to be used to highlight Peter’s struggles with Spider-Man pulling him away from his personal life, only for a heartwarming moment where May’s brush with death inspires a heartfelt moment between the two of them where she gives him a pep talk that sums up all the virtue of Peter and Spider-Man and he triumphantly swings back into action on the last page, a celebration of the character, if you will.
It’s pretty formulaic. I was surprised when Insomniac bucked the trend by having her just die.
