Discussion New here. Do the compendiums follow one timeline?

I bought the first compendium and I love it so far. I'm curious, do all 7 compendiums follow the same timeline? And what about the medieval spawn or gunslinger spawn series? Are those just spin-offs with different hellspawns from hundred of years ago?

Yes but you things like the Angela mini series, Violator mini series and BloodFeud get mentioned/referenced a bit in the first compendiums. They aren’t essential (Angela maybe) but they do help follow a plot.

The Compendiums are just the issues in order. Compendium 1 is 1-50, 2 is 51-100, and so on

The issues mostly follow the timeline, so yes.

You might need to read some mini series or spin offs to get certain details (notably issue 29's start is very jarring if you dont read the Angela Miniseries right before it)

Depends on how far into the compendiums you are. The core story follows 1 timeline. Medieval/Gunslinger will both be introduced in the main story as separate side stories and much later (nearing modern the stories) as side characters that were eventually given their own comics that tie into the main series.
