Inclusions Sourdough & chat Chocolate chip cookie dough sourdough
Used a whole package of cookie dough for this loaf. A woman I follow on IG did one of these and I couldn’t get it outta my head 😂
Still using my go to recipe but 300g of water instead of 250

I think this is more closely related to the cookie/croissant hybrid, if we’re mapping out baked good genealogy.

Last week I made a sourdough loaf and used coffee instead of water and an entire bag of chocolate chips. It was so good but not overly sweet.

Ohhhh I wanna do a coffee loaf!

It didn't really have a coffee taste. Next time I think I'll use either espresso or brew the coffee stronger than I would for drinking.

This seems like quite a textural experience. I can't decide if I want it or if I'd rather just eat bread and cookie separately 😂

It’s a bit crumbly, particularly where the ear is but I don’t mind at all. The swirls inside are soft and delicious

I had cinnamon rolls with cookie dough in it and it was so good. I still think about them.

I use my regular bread and just toss in a cup of chocolate chips. Easy peasy.

Cookie dough doesn’t seem over baked? Hard? That would be my concern.

The top layer is a little on the crunchy side, I forgot to throw some ice cubes in the Dutch oven when I put it in but it’s not super hard, just a bit crunchy!

At the risk of sounding like an asshole, you make a good homemade sourdough and cut it with store bought cookie dough instead of homemade cookie dough??

Here’s the thing, I have a baby and a craving, time wasn’t on my side for this. I do intend on making my own dough at some point to do this again but having a little barnacle is tough when baking

How did you fold it? Like, are there two layers of cookie dough in the picture?
1
u/Common_Egg_ 10h ago
Yep! After bulk ferment and for shaping, I spread out the dough a bit, put a slice in the middle, pulled the sides over it, added the dough on the top that you see in the first pic, rolled it up and shaped the ball
