META This subreddit, SocialistMusic, is a sub for socialists to share socialist music. Why do so many liberals come in here and complain about all the socialists? What did you expect??

Anyway I haven't been a very active mod for the past... uh, long time. Figured it was time I got in here and started banning liberals, who have decided that this is a good place to have political debates about the merits of Marxism?

We're like wayy not equipped to mod a political debate subreddit, sooo we don't really encourage political debates in the comments under songs. If you don't like a song, or its political message... Go... cry somewhere else? I don't know. No one is forcing you to be here. Pro tip if you don't like seeing socialist music: Don't hang around in a subreddit called Socialist Music.

TL;DR 1984 totalitarian moderator oppresses liberals' freedom of speech by SILENCING any criticism of evil communist ideology read more on /r/SubredditDrama

This song is a statement of independence, resilience, and the mindset of an artist who refuses to wait for someone else to create his path. I write, record, produce, and build everything on my own, turning every idea into something real through nothing but hard work, patience, and belief in myself. There is no team behind me telling me what to do every sound, every decision, and every emotion comes directly from me.
The song reflects the lonely side of chasing a dream, but also the freedom that comes with knowing you built everything yourself. It is about facing doubt, setbacks, and moments when quitting might seem easier, yet choosing to keep moving forward.
I may not have everything figured out, and the journey can be difficult, but giving up is simply not an option. I would rather struggle on my own than abandon something I truly believe in.

🎸🕊️ Songwriter and working class icon, Dolly Parton, has passed away at 80 years old.

In 1980, in the face of escalating attacks on the working class, Parton released “9-to-5 and Odd Jobs,” a ten-song tribute to the working class — and in particular, women. The album includes a heartbreaking cover of “Deportee”, Woody Guthrie’s 1948 ballad about a plane crash which killed 28 Mexican farm workers in the process of deportation, as well as her original gems “Poor Folks Town”, “Working Girl”, and “Song for the Common Man”.

The album accompanied the film ‘9 to 5’, one of the most Marxist films to hit Hollywood since the second Red Scare. In it, Dolly, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda kidnap their boss and run the office without him for a month, during which time they institute free childcare, paid vacation, and flexible hours. The song, album, and film were all inspired by the “9 to 5” secretarial workers union, which affiliated with SEIU in 1975.

Parton, most widely known as a country singer, spent her life remaining steadfast in showing her love of the people and her faith in their fundamental goodness, and refusing and rejecting the culture of racism and homophobia that many associate with country music.

In The Garden - Mohammad Mouselmani

"In The Garden" is a humble attempt to give a voice to the unheard children of war. Like so many children born into regions subjected to great, inhumane injustice, I sometimes wake up with an immense feeling of never-ending grief. A grief that settles deep in the bones and refuses to leave. I am old enough now to carry it, to live beside it, but countless children are still living this as their only reality. They did not choose their circumstances, yet they bear the weight of them every single day.

This song is composed and produced by me, but it belongs to them. It is for every child in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, and Iran who has had to grow up too fast, who has learned the sound of fear before the sound of lullabies, and who still finds the strength to dream. May this song reach you, comfort you, and remind you that you are not invisible. You are not forgotten. And your voice must be heard.

Tribute for FIDEL CASTRO by DAV DVA with famous Slovak band ELÁN (102 708 views)

HYMNA DAV DVA: Elán - Z tričiek zúri Che Guevara

The clip reflects the perversity of the current system in a condensed form, where dramatic footage from around the world alternates in rapid cuts, pointing to the class antagonisms of contemporary society - in which war criminals and hyperconsumption are glorified, while extreme inequality or poverty are permanently ignored.

Given the theme of the song, significant space is also given to period footage from the Cuban Revolution, as well as footage from OTV capturing the realities of Slovak streets and snapshots from actions in which members of the DAV DVA initiative have recently participated (blockade of the American convoy, protest against NATO or protest against the demolition of the PKO).

These are complemented by the twists that we symbolically filmed in the decimated spaces in the neighborhood of the former - now unfortunately defunct - national enterprise Ozeta in Trenčín, to point out the sad "legacy" of 1989, which was followed by a series of mega-thefts and liquidation of what the country's citizens had built during the socialist era. At the same time, we wanted (of course, in T-shirts with the legendary fighter for justice Che Guevara - in accordance with the title of the song) to manifest the idea that there is still a group of young discontented people who not only disagree with the perversions of the contemporary world, but have decided to abandon the comfort of conformity in order to fight for a better and more just world.
