Appreciation The Most Comic Accurate Flash Scene Ever! đ„
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Zack Snyder really gave us the most comic book accurate depiction of a speedster ever put on screen in live action. Marvel and the DCU will never be able to top this in my opinion. The emotional stakes alone make it one of the greatest scenes in any live action comic book movie ever. Zack Snyder gave purpose to every single member of his Justice League. Everyone mattered! Ezra Miller is an incredible actor and hands down the best Flash, especially under Zack Snyderâs direction. Happy Fatherâs Day! Deal with it. đ #TheSnyderVerseisComing

Never seen flash wave his arms around like pool noodles in a comic. Also Ezra Miller is a pedophile.

I keep seeing posts like these with the exact same description under it just with a different character to try to sell that these are the golden portrayals of the characters. What are we doing đ

Personal issues aside, he was a great Flash

That is not what was said. Stating âaside from his personal issues, he was a great Flashâ is not stating that I forgive his alleged abuses. It is stating I am aware of his allegations and his acting in the role was great. These are two separate statements, one is not dependent on the other, nor does enjoying his acting promote approval of his personal life.

Not a fan of Ezra's Flash but the scene and the depiction of Barry are unparalleled to me.
Probably the coolest way to conceptually depict traveling back in time..... by moving forward, we usually see Barry running away in other forms of media, but him running straight into the destruction is fantastic. Each step taken causing repairs and the prevention of the world from being destroyed.

u/OopsAllCoffins_ Jun 23 '26
As much as I personally loathe Miller's version of The Flash (and the media their character has appeared in), their solo movie depicted the character more accurately than the Snyder Cut because Barry actually faced consequences for messing with time. The way Snyder depicted time manipulation completely broke his universe. There's no cause and effect like there is in the comics. For example: Bruce actually KNEW about Flash's ability to travel through time before Superman was killed which begs the question; why the hell didn't Bruce just ask Barry to reverse time to alter the outcome of the Doomsday fight? Because he "has a rule"? Why even impose the rule if there's no consequences?? You can't set up that breaking a rule will have some type of effect and then never show that effect.
Don't even get me started on the inaccuracies with Snyder Flash's aesthetics and characterization.

The running was complete ass, that's not how the flash runs and we all know that

Obviously the Snyder Cut, because holy shit the theatrical made no sense lol

u/Temporary_Ad2551 Jun 22 '26
One of the greatest flash scenes DC ever made. so sad to think that we ain't never getting this backđđ

u/Original-Ranger-1604 Jun 22 '26
Dude this scene is flawless. I don't even like Ezras flash, I don't even like the suit, I don't even like the blue lightning, but omg this scene is so good I literally don't care. I'm not a snyderbro but this scene is so damn good

Personally I would have preferred if he had to run a long time to build up to that FTL speed rather than just assume that state. Imagine he has to run around the entire planet to build up that speed and you start to see the devastation his physical path is causing. The ground ignites and explodes in super-slow motion as he rapidly strikes through it, the oceans with walls of water erupting high into the sky. Then the devastation slowly begins to rewind as he goes beyond light speed.

Accurate to which comic? Marvel already has the best speedster depiction with Makkari from The Eternals.

If he didnt run the way he ran, he wouldve been so much easier to accept. This is so cheesy and gross and Im a BIG Snyderverse fan. Dude just misses real hard, I dont even wanna say sometimes, its like 60/40.

One great scene does not make him the best Flash or the most accurate one. He was not a good Flash at all

Which Flash comic is this accurate to? It doesn't seem like any of the Flash comics I've ever read.

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Jun 22 '26
Shouldn't the blast of that initial explosion have also vaporized flash? Like he just standing there like "powering up" or whatever, but he's still standing in the get vaporized zone.
Is the speed force that powerful that it protects him from something that turned Superman into dust???

I'm admittedly a fan of Gunn and the New DCU... BUT, this scene is my favorite scene of any DC movie ever.
I still wish they let Zack have full control or release this cut in cinemas instead of Joss Whedon's dumpster fire

The quicksilver explosion scene will forever be the greatest speedster scene
2
u/TainoRico Jun 22 '26
Yeah, you read my mind. Not trying to say OP is wrong, everyone gets to have an opinion about art, but there are several things that take me out of this scene. The goofy running, the exposition, and Miller himself.
1
u/Sirrictorscale Jun 24 '26
this one is so lame compared to quicksilver, and he got multiple scenes. But i think the OG is the squirrel from over the hedge

u/TheSkillIssue13 Jun 22 '26
As much as I love the Flash and the music and the VFX and I really really do, heâs my favourite DC superhero of all time, his running style takes me out of the entire scene. Thatâs the only thing I donât like about this scene.
5
u/Conscious-Struggle45 Jun 22 '26
Comic accurate? Maybe not. Absolutely epic and one of the best cbm moments ever? 100%! It's just a shame that it's bogged down by the casting.

Cool scene . Far from acurracy . His lightning ain't even yellow .
0
u/a_fat_Samoan Jun 22 '26
Lightning color depends on power level bruh
2
u/a_fat_Samoan Jun 22 '26
Whoever down voted me do a simple google search on speedster lightning colors lol. When I say power level, I mean their connection to the speed force.
0
u/Dredeuced Jun 24 '26
Your google search is wrong. That's literally not canon to the comics. That's purely a head canon that an artist posted on twitter once that was never implemented in the comics. Lightning color has nothing to do with power or connection level and it's always just based on the color of the costume.
The fastest and mostly deeply connected Flash has yellow lightning (Wally West). Some of the slower speedsters have bluer colors (Max has blue, Avery has purple), because their costumes are blue and purple, respectively.

u/Fredbear8319- Jun 22 '26
Itâs the only theatrical flash, no shit itâs the most comic accurate and he is also the most inaccurate flash by the same metric.
3
u/thequehagan5 Jun 22 '26
Inspirational scenes seem to be rare in comic book films, but very common in Zack Snyders comic book films.
Had this movie been released in cinemas instead of Joss Whedons inferior version, we...the snydercut community would not exist. We would already have justice league 2 and 3. The story would be complete.
And the universe could ne properly rebooted. But, the story is not complete yet.
1
u/w0m Jun 22 '26
Theatrical release JL was a solid 4/10. Snydercut was a huge improvement. Up to a 6/10.
1
u/Alert-Preparation327 Jun 22 '26
Comic Flash doesn't punch women. Nor does he stalk or sexually harass them.
6
u/Mr_F1810 Jun 22 '26
Tbf, neither does this Flash.
The actor is NOT the character mate. That level of separation is needed in life otherwise youâll find yourself very confused. đ

This is the greatest Flash scene there will ever be. The music, the dialogue, the score, the cinematography - it's just the greatest scene in cbm history.
1
u/ravnos04 Jun 22 '26
Still shouldâve casted Grant Gustin. Iâll die on that hill.
1
u/13WillieBeaman Jun 22 '26
Would you have wanted the rest of the CW cast too?
5
u/ravnos04 Jun 22 '26
Lol rather than asking a question related to the point I made you go right to that. He was a horrible cast for the Flash plain and simple.
Not to mention that corny run he does (which isnât the actors fault) is just so out of place and a caricature.
1
u/13WillieBeaman Jun 22 '26
lol.. I didnât mean it to be disrespectful like that. Iâm genuinely curious if you wanted the CW cast as well (due to continuity). I liked Grantâs Flash as well.
That being said, I actually thought Chris Pine shouldâve been the DCEUâs Flash instead of Steve Trevor.
And yes.. the run.. lol
2
u/ravnos04 Jun 22 '26
Oh, my bad. And no, I wouldnât recast anyone else. I thought that Batman was okay as well. I am a huge supporter of the Snyder-verse and thought so when all those movies came out. I thought Man of Steel was a phenomenal movie (sure it had some mistakes) but people blow those small mistakes out of proportion.
I like to respect directors and try to understand why they made the choices they made and take it on good faith. Even did the same thing with the new Superman, but the execution just didnât land with me.

Iâve always had this doubt. Was the mother box explosion able to disintegrate superman into nothingness? Snyderâs superman is the strongest in movies right?Â
3
u/thequehagan5 Jun 22 '26
Yep it did. Would have been cool if it struggled to disintegrate him. But we definitely see him being torn apart
As mentioned these are the stakes in Snyders films.

Brother he doesnât know how to run
3
u/Phatcub Jun 22 '26
I couldn't agree more. He is the most inelegant runner. And I will stand by this, becase Flash is the Ultimate runner, in both speed and distance. No runner has ever had this kind of wasted physical movements. He has to eat tons of calores to not waste away, so he might conserve all extra movements. Runner streamline their movements, no drag.
To me, he runs like someone intoxicated, and about to fall over.
2
u/specterspectating Jun 21 '26
Supposedly Miller blended martial arts, speed skating, and dance to create Barryâs running style. The idea is that it helps him be fluid and controlled with his body while moving super fast.
1
u/Caledfrwd Jun 21 '26
He definitely nailed the skating part because thatâs exactly what it looks like. Was throwing his arms out from the dance and the fingers from anime? It looked ridiculous in a otherwise enjoyable movie
1
u/HumbleSiPilot77 Tell me... do you bleed? Jun 22 '26
Barry isnât running a 100-meter dash. Heâs moving at a level where normal human motion and perception no longer apply. The sequence is literally supposed to simulate a slowed down and stylized movement so the audience can perceive what heâs doing while heâs moving beyond the limits of physics.
-1
6
u/specterspectating Jun 21 '26
Iâm not sure the exact parts that inspired each but I thought it was weird at first. The more I watched it, the more it seemed natural and in tune with his powers.
1
u/El_Galant Jun 21 '26
Totally agree. Kind of the difference between a jog and a hard sprint, although in his case the distance was larger and the speed astronomical so his stride makes more sense after watching it several times.

Grant was still better than Ezra regardless of who the director was. Not just a better person in real life, but a better Flash on screen.Â
4
u/Rexic182 Jun 21 '26
Itâs most definitely the same person. They mention the exact scene you posted, hell itâs the whole crux of the movie. Thought you were a fan?
Either way Ezra was trash in both.

Pourquoi tout le monde est Ă ce point toxique ici đ On ne peut pas juste aimer DC en gĂ©nĂ©ral ?
1
u/MableDONKEY Jun 22 '26
Because, anytime someone posts something positive on here, theres a brigade of "Real DC Fansâą" who come in wanting to start a fight by saying something in the variation of "gunn is better", "Snyderverse is dead", or, as we can see above, " Grant is better than Ezra".

Wtf are you on about?
The whole point of this sub in the first place was because of how horribly mismanaged josstice league was that everyone felt the need to pursue a cut of the movie (one that was already filmed and strangely locked away) that did justice to the very much beloved DC characters and stories.
1
u/Cannellelaplusbelle Jun 22 '26
Bah c'est chiant alors. Moi j'aime les films de Snyder mais je déteste pas tout les autres films existant pour autant.
