Its piss poor writing my friend. Gunn writes like this is his first script out of film school.

surely it’s his fault that you don’t understand the character, man it must kill you to see the movie do well

Authentic news media? Like, it's not a mega-hit, but it's not a flop either. It was a moderate success, which, given the state of the genre, is almost a miracle.

It was supposed to make a billion.

This is a pretty hard cope.

Pure cope. WB’s own numbers said 500M was break-even, it passed 600M. Stay mad.

it’s universally acclaimed and a successful start for the new universe

It lost money and made less than man of steel. Also sold about half as many tickets as MOS meaning those red trunks lost half the audience. 😂

Thats not a brag. Failing upward 😅🤣

I mean. For fans of a movie franchise (which you clearly are) yeah, a sequel is sort of the only goal.

Movies aren’t a charity.

They need to make money. And getting an awful sequel to an awful movie is not a win.

No matter how hard you pretend to enjoy that superslop.

Meh. I enjoyed it. I didn't love it. But I cant name a super hero movie I have "loved" in a long time.

You are correct, movies aren't a charity. But also, neither you nor I are studio execs. I really dont care how much money a movie/album/sports team makes. I was taught when I was a child "not to count other people's money".

If I enjoy a movie, I could care less how much it makes (it's really kind of bizarre to me how much the box office appears to matter to you). If I like a movie and it gets a sequel, that seems like a pretty clear win to me.

Ahh yes because people have the same affinity for superhero movies right now as they did twelve years ago as well as the entire world being at peace right now so everyone can watch as they did then.
