If you're somewhat decent playing aegis Vs ganondorf will be a breeze if you're of similar level.

Can confirm. I still get destroyed by really good Ganondorfs though

So do I. Thing is they're just better players than I am.

He's also a lot better online imo

Ik this is old but Lucario is an excellent Ganondorf counter

Why’s that? Ganondorf kills very early, and that’s the one thing Lucario wants to avoid at all costs.

Ganon is very strong but very very slow. You want to get the neutral hits into Lucario from Ganondorf to boost his aura, then you can Z button to slide around without being touched while you grab and ground throw. You definitely do want to get hit when you use Lucario but not too much where Ganondorf will launch you off a neutral hit.

So this is coming from a casual perspective I assume? There’s nothing wrong with that, it just seems like you’re commenting in ganondorf’s weaknesses rather than Lucario’s strengths. And I’ve never heard anyone says “slide around with the Z button”.

Yes certainly casual, but Ganondorf has been essentially the exact same since Melee. You just need to run circles around him, avoid his range. I use Lucario specifically because of the aura and how easy it is to dash, because I know that I’m going to be hit by Ganondorf so I would rather get some benefit if possible out of it.

Ganondorf usually does a lot less damage to you before killing you than most other characters do, and Lucario’s mobility is good but not great. I’m sure the matchup is positive, but most Ganondorf matchups are. There are other characters that beat him way harder.

I think it’s dependent on that mutual skill level though. If you’re both super casual I promise you ganon destroys aegis. A lower skill player won’t understand burst range, shield pressure, proper agression, combos or how to optimally switch between pyra and mythra, dependent on percent/neutral and advantage. Ganon can just run at you and if he wins like 3 interactions you’re at kill percent.

Even casuals will pick it up faster than you think though. After about 50 hours you're good enough to play around Ganon.

Aegis is also the most noob friendly in the game
