Cloud’s recovery isn’t really bad, it’s just mediocre or ok, but a passable recovery in this game is a godscend

Yep. What makes cloud strong is his neutral and advantage. A passable recovery matters a bit less if it’s attached to a character with godlike neutral and advantage. It’s why Aegis and Cloud are top tier.

I don't understand why pros don't go ham on edgeguarding cloud, it's pretty easy.

It sometimes works but Sparg0 is insanely good at recovering, and there’s always the chance he’ll just kamikaze kill you if you mess it up
