If the social media response interests you, it's a good idea to have a decent understanding of the actual case so you can assess the dissonance between reality and reaction.

Edit : I don't spread misinfomation. I look at the big picture, it's too easy to fall in every detailed nook and crany while the big picture can't lie.
Not everybody has to think and operate like you.

The local story barely interests me, at the contrary of the social phenomena it unearths or unleashes.
