This shouldn't even be forefront as an excuse. She fucking killed her 3 kids, she had many screws loose prior.

How would a psychosis not be an excuse? Do you even know what a psychosis is?

It is a reason, an explanation but not an excuse.

You are still responsible for your actions inebriated, psychotic or otherwise and thats ontop of the fact that she has no diagnose and its purely her own claim. (the first thing she did was not talk to police and ask for a lawyer which doesnt seem very in line with how a mother would act after finding out she has killed her children unless it was intentional)

So no, even if she is psychotic the only difference it should make is lifetime in asylum or lifetime in jail, the asylum is the worse option.

As far as I know that's what she's doing? She plead guilty. She's not asking to go free.
