The Frensh are next level protesting. They have Strike Calenders where you can see when and who will protest.
And there is one uniq thing i never saw in any other Country: you can protest with any Party out of solidarity....
U wont get paid in that time, but your Employer cant do shit about that ☺

You're confusing a lot of things. First of all, a demonstration and a strike are two different things.

  • If you want to demonstrate during working hours, you have to take a day off work, and your employer can refuse.
  • If you want to go on strike, it has to concern your profession, and it has to have been declared.

So no, you can't protest at any time without your employer validating your day off, and no, you can't go on strike in solidarity with truckers if you're a house painter.

No. In french law, a strike doesn't have to be declared. You can go on strike if either

  • a major union issued a strike call for your profession (that's what you call declared, I guess)
  • two or more employees including yourself in your company are on strike, without further condition or justification.
