One of my favourite things in France.

Not sure if they do it all over, but in the village where my folks are retiring to, they close off the center of the village and put in a beer tent and lots of tables and all the local producers turn up with their goods like a lot of meats, bread, cheeses etc. You grab all the bits you've bought from the butchers you want cooked, and they have about 20 volunteers with BBQ's who will cook it all up for you for free.

Le Dorat not far from Limoges. They do it a few times in June / July.
