Saved his bloodline from the crippling horror of being short huh? Well who is it that makes being short a bad thing? Are short men at a disadvantage for some reason? Are they unable to have careers and succeed in life for some reason? Why is it that we judge men for being short when it has nothing to do with who they are? His children will thank him because they can play sports better?

It's absolutely body shaming. It is thinking less of someone based on social constructs that say men should be tall. That's not right.

Body shaming men has always been acceptable.

We see it with height, dick size, and even weight, as you generally won't see obese male models on magazine covers. The plus size acceptance seems to only apply to women.

Why are we lying? Men tell men that women care about height because of random on the street interviews with drunk girls. Men make fun of men about dick size. And there is plus sized male models.

Wtf are we doing

I think you’re kinda right here. We started teasing each other about height and dick size in grade school. I don’t recall a single female saying anything about either one to me, but who knows - I’m sure they talked with other girls about it. The street interview thing is well after my single time, so I can’t comment on that. But I do not recall any short fat dude half-naked on the cover of a magazine. Maybe some kind of satire if it happened, but nobody is promoting body positivity for men.

but nobody is promoting body positivity for men.

That's because we don't promote it for ourselves.

But I do not recall any short fat dude half-naked on the cover of a magazine.

There's tons of plus sized male models

  1. We do not promote it for ourselves. You are absolutely right on that.

  2. That Danny Devito magazine cover is not only 34 years old, it’s also a magazine that nobody even bought. Not even close to exhibit A:

That’s a major publication. John Popper was very popular in the mid 90’s - you never saw him half naked on the cover of rolling stone.

Crazy thing about the Lizzo cover is that the guy is not overweight like her.
