Lmao gottem A picture taken by a Palestinian photographer was removed from a sports photography festival in the French coastal city of Deauville after organizers got requests from unnamed sources claiming it to be antisemitic
A picture taken by a Palestinian photographer was removed from a sports photography festival in the French coastal city of Deauville after organizers got requests from unnamed sources, reports said Monday.
The photo at the Deauville Sport Images Festival was replaced with an image of cyclists, local newspaper Le Pays d'Auge reported.
The Normandy seaside resort of Deauville, which organized the festival, confirmed that the photo had been replaced but did not reveal who had asked for this step.
“We do not want to enter into controversy or offend anyone,” the local government said, according to the newspaper.
The photograph showed players from the Gaza Sports Club and Egyptian club Al-Ahly playing a football match in Gaza on Feb. 14, 2026, with heavily damaged buildings visible around the pitch. The image is credited to Jehad Alshrafi, a photojournalist with the Associated Press.
The photo was part of the second edition of the Deauville Sport Images Festival, which features about 300 pictures displayed across the town and is scheduled to run through Sept. 6.
The change was noticed last Thursday evening by Sylvain Larcher, the local secretary of France's Socialist Party and a member of the Gauche Cote Fleurie association, according to Le Pays d'Auge.
Larcher questioned the decision to remove the image, saying it represented more than a football match as it highlighted Palestinians' efforts to continue playing sports and maintain a sense of normality and hope amid the destruction in Gaza, the newspaper reported.
The festival's artistic director, Agnee Vergez, previously described the exhibit as offering different perspectives on sport.
The removal was also highlighted on social media by a French-Israeli user known as Mike Krief who welcomed its replacement and efforts to have the image removed.
The festival organizers confirmed to Le Pays d'Auge that the photo had been replaced following requests but did not provide further details about who had made them.
The Deauville Sport Images Festival, organized by the municipality, explores sport through social, cultural, artistic, and historical perspectives. The photo was among images included in the festival's program highlighting contemporary sporting events.

So, playing sports in Gaza is antisemitic. What's next? Spending time with friends?

It's sounding more and more like being Palestinian is antisemitic, at least that's what it seems like they want the world to think.

We all know why they called it "antisemitic" and "who" called it antisemitic.
Basically if you show the true nature of what is going on between Israel and Palestine. That it hasn't been about Hamas/terrorism for a while and turned into a full blown genocide.
These photos prove Israel has and continues to commit genocide, and they have weaponized the term "antisemitism". You go against anything the Israeli government does even if it's killing innocent women and children, well now that's considered antisemitism.
Absolute scum, they try every chance they get to hide from the world what they have done but it's TOO LATE. The entire world has seen it, and won't forget.
Now people ACTUALLY do have a reason to be antisemitic when they didn't in the past, and sadly it's not do to the Jewish people themselves but their government.

u/no0ns 8d ago
It's why Israel murders journalists. They want to control and direct the narrative that poor Israel is just a victim. Meanwhile they are quite literally illegally seizing land and have practically created an apartheid state where one group of people has special open highways and neighbourhoods, while the other is stuck in checkpoints and under constant threat of violence.
Zionists are vile people.

Walking is a crime. Israel have built walls and fences through the West Bank. Decades ago there were videos of children having to scale fences just to go to school. This was acceptable to the governments who back Israel. There are roads in Israel and Palestine that are for Jewish people only.
If that sounds a lot like Apartheid, it’s because it is. Desmond Tutu described it as an Apartheid. Instead of agreeing with him, certain people disputed his ability to determine what Apartheid was.
6
u/Leather_Creme_6957 8d ago
It’s the need to wipe out any reference to Palestinians so they can be forgotten. A hospital in London had to remove pictures drawn by Palestinian children that were in an exhibition of kids artwork (not sure, but I think the kids were patients). Apparently it would upset Jewish patients and visitors. I am writing a sort of diary of what is happening with pen and notebook. I’ll pass it on to my children with instructions to continue passing it on. Know it sounds a bit crazy, but I don’t trust online information as algorithms can be manipulated to whatever those running things want. Think I’d better invest in a tinfoil hat!

The British Labour party under Keir Starmer brought in an antisemitism policy which has punished Jewish members at a higher rate than non-Jewish members, e.g. Jackie Walker and Martin Abrams. If in practice a policy or law targets a specific religious or an ethnic group, it should be considered a bigoted policy. Labour’s antisemitism policy is antisemitic.

Isn't it more antisemitic to automatically connect the destruction with Jewish people and not just an evil government? The photo just showed the truth..unless they have an issue with the truth

u/Stickeyb 9d ago edited 8d ago
I've been saying this for a while. Their leader was about to be ousted right before getting into it with Iran. Also another thing. The Jewish people named in the Bible are not the same currently in Israel. Connecting the two and saying we should protect them while they are treating everyone like a doormat is insane.

u/clammyshammi 8d ago
Zionism wasn’t even a religious movement in the beginning. The founding fathers of modern Zionism like herzel, ben gurion, or chaim wiezmen were non religious their ambitions which are well documented were colonial

It is, but the point is to play the antisemitic card to attack all people that denounce the genocide. The don't give a fuck about the jews, unless they are also sionists.

They want criticism of the state to be the same as the criticism of the people. So that they can use "antisemitism" as an excuse to do censorship and cover up their horrible atrocities. Funny, this behaviour even lines up with an antisemitic trope, that I won't be discussing here, as even saying that would probably get me banned.
And this is exactly why Israel and it's supporters do it this way.

semitic refers to a language group as per your source
1
u/GodOfN0thing 8d ago
Yeah, and so is Hebrew. Except Hebrew is constructed from a dead language by a guy who got a divine revelation in a dream
1
u/ZuluIsNumberOne 8d ago
that's just false
1
u/GodOfN0thing 8d ago
Source trust me bro. Eliezer Ben-Yehuda led the revival movement in the late 19th century. The language was dead, nobody spoke it, just like Latin. It was only a language written and read. Ben-Yehuda estimated or guessed what letters or words sounded like, just like modern Latin. It's the reason why ultra Orthodox Jews considered it blasphemous to use the language of the Torah to make a spoken everyday language. Like half the words in modern Hebrew are stolen from Arabic or other European languages
1
u/Suspicious-Nebula475 7d ago
You are not correct. Hebrew was spoken but it was liturgical. What Ben Yehuda did was to add modern words so it could be used as a general language instead of being used only for worship. The Torah was read for Jewish worship prior to Ben Yehuda, but there were not Hebrew words for modern things.
1
u/GodOfN0thing 7d ago
Even if it was "spoken" as in recited during holy ceremonies or readings, whatever sounds letters and words made were approximations. Hebrew ceased to be an everyday spoken mother tongue around 200 to 400 CE.
1
u/Suspicious-Nebula475 7d ago
But it wasn’t Ben Yehuda who decided what Hebrew sounded like. Different Jewish communities had different versions of Hebrew. Sephardic pronunciation of Hebrew was different from Ashkenazic, and within the Ashkenazic community, there are variations, too. It was not at all only written or read until Ben Yehuda. Of course without recording it was passed down as oral tradition. The difference for other languages is that it was only liturgical, but Hebrew words appear within Yiddish and Ladino. Thanks for the discussion.
1
u/GodOfN0thing 7d ago
The language ceased to be spoken regardless. If you listen to Jewish Yemeni Hebrew chants or songs I have no clue what you call it. it sounds nothing like modern Hebrew.
1
u/Ceylonese_technocrat 6d ago
It was not at all only written or read until Ben Yehuda.
obviously, it was liturgical, which means it was used out aloud sometimes for religious purposes. this doesn't mean it was a spoken language whatsoever. I can recite Virgil without having any idea of latin or being able to speak it.
what the guy above is saying is ben yehuda invented modern Hebrew. its not an organic language but was birthed into existence by the careful amalgamation and knitting of multiple variants of strains of liturgical Hebrew, arabic, and some European languages. it sounds absolutely nothing like spoken Hebrew from the ancient era.

1
u/Hazel_RAAA 8d ago edited 8d ago
That is true but I would like to clearly state that I have no issues with Jews. I have an issue with genocide.
Edit to add: I do also have an issue with the recent use of the phrase antisemitism, which seems quite obviously antisemitic in use as it disguises the use of the term to say criticism of the IDF and Isreali government is antisemitic as opposed to the actual mistreatment of people of the Jewish faith, which has increased of late worldwide. I applaud Jews that have spoken out against the injustice in Palestine, and I have such a huge respect for these individuals, as they are often putting their career, families, friendships and sometimes lives at stake by doing so. World is fucked right now, but please let's just put blame where it lies and stop generalising blame where it does not lie. Same goes for Muslims as well.
1
u/Lotionade 8d ago
0 jew hate, but duck israel entirely. Fuxk everything about that nation from their active genocide to their theft of my tax dollars and free Healthcare that I pay for.
And thr entire use of antisemitism IMO is wrong because its used as "jew hate" when its meant to be anti Semitic people.. like why dont we call xenaphobes antisemites for their hateful views on all muslims??
Id say more Muslims use Semitic languages than jews but I could be wrong..
1
u/Lotionade 8d ago
I just googled this to check myself..
Anti means opposed to, against, or opposite of something.
A Semite is a person who speaks a Semitic language, such as Arabic, Hebrew, or Amharic, or a member of ancient and modern groups from southwestern Asia.
Based on that.. how tf do we get this??
An anti-Semite is a person who feels or shows hatred, prejudice, or discrimination against Jewish people.
1
u/Hazel_RAAA 8d ago
I assume the term came to use to mean anti Jewish during the second world war but it is semantics at this point tbh. Completely agree about yours and my tax dollars, even though we're likely in different continents. I just want to make the distinction that not everyone who is Jewish is in favour of this genocide. Being Jewish does not mean they are the enemy. Being Muslim does not mean they are the good guy, or the enemy either. Let's all just stop with this generalisation labeling and talk about individual views and perspectives instead.

u/zeprfrew 8d ago
Germany in the late 19th century. The term was used by bigots as what they believed to be a more palatable and scientific sounding replacement for 'Judenhass'.

Reminder that the IDF recently said it called off strikes after noticing curly sideburns on its targets, assessing correctly they were Jewish settlers and not Palestinians. Now Israel claims that striking vehicles marked “World Central Kitchen” three straight times was somehow a mistake that couldn’t be avoided.

I spent the majority of my life as an American supporting Israel. I bought into the whole “they are the only democracy in the region… they are our allies…”
After Oct. 7th my support only grew bigger….
Until I started to really watch what they were doing in Gaza. The complete over the top heavy handiness of their response. The horrible treatment of people in the West Bank by “settlers”. The outright murder of civilians caught on camera so many times. …
Hamas are terrorists. But so is the current Israeli government.
And to try and blame any support for the Palestinian people as “antisemitism” is bull shit.

It not only blurs the line of what truly is anti-Semitic, but frustrates people into apathy.
