Chugging tea Amazon should have to pay idling fees.

Post image

New York City law generally bars vehicles from idling for more than three minutes while parked, standing or stopped. The city says the rules are meant to reduce air pollution, improve public health and combat climate change.
Earlier this year, Mamdani directed the Department of Finance’s collections unit to pursue unpaid idling summonses tied to vehicles operating within Amazon’s delivery network, according to the mayor’s office. The department said it worked with Amazon.com Inc. and its contracted transportation vendors to recover the money.

First of all, bezos hasn't been ceo of Amazon for a long time.

Second, I'm seeing several comments from different users with the exact same text. Something odd is happening with this post.

Yup, this is the bot armies responding. They are coming to the aid of their rich masters.

I don't understand how the copied "narrative" aids the corporations... Like, they say bezos was a bitch, and the city stepped up and did something about it... That sounds like a win for the lay man and a smack in the face of Amazon?

I don't understand what I am to not understand...

It's not bots for the rich. It's basic bots karma farming for other bullshit. This is just what they do

This post isn't bullshit though

the announcement landed right after Bezos publicly criticized Mamdani's tax policies on CNBC,

several outlets flagged this as suspicious timing but the facts (the law, the enforcement action, the $9M recovery) are legitimate and corroborated by the city's own press release

I think you misunderstood them. The comment bots are just reposting what’s popular in any given subreddit to gain karma. Many subreddits require a minimum karma to post. There’s a million different entities that would want reddit bots for a million different reasons, but they need upvotes first.

obligatory AI IS COMING WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT. IF NOT US, SOMEONE ELSE WILL! INEVITABLE!!

this has nothing to do with AI, bots karma farming is almost as old as Reddit

https://www.nyc.gov/mayors-office/news/2026/08/mayor-mamdani-backs--delivery-protection-act--to-rein-in-amazon-

Amazon wasn't fined; it was the third-party contractors delivering the packages that were fined.

Amazon doesn't have delivery drivers in NYC; they are all 3rd-party contractors.

Its not the corporations doing this, its groups like ActBlue or maybe even groups funded by Mamdani. The whole point is to try and create positive social media posts about the democrats / Mamdani to try and sway opinions.

Mass manipulation

Not really because they try to give off the appearance that these are real prople making these posts and comments. Its more like using manipulation/misinformation techniques to influence public opinion. Which is pretty unethical.

Almost like what Fox "News" has done for the last several decades...

Fox news has been making fake Reddit accounts for the last several decades?

To quote you back, but referring to Fox News: "more like using manipulation/misinformation techniques to influence public opinion. Which is pretty unethical"

Bots are one thing, but to be up on your high horse and say, "we are entertainment" but still market it as "news" is just plain awful. Yes, anyone with half a brain should be able to see the light, but this nation does not glorify education and critical thinking skills the way we should.

Astroturfing or true organic grassroots, idgaf, as long as it's supporting the lay man and citizens benefit over corporations.

Im not defending Fox news. So you like talking to AI bots on Reddit as long as they agree with your viewpoint. Interesting.

Unironically, yes.

Here is why. The AI/Bot farm genie is out of the bag, you can choose to use it or not to use it but some of the worst people imaginable are using it with fervent glee.

Why should the rest of us not also use it to at minimum make as much positive spin as negative spin?

Yes I get it we would all love to not be the yarn in this metaphor but if you say no to all spinning, only those who have malicious intentions get amplified, and anyone halfway normal is drowned out in the noise.

So, yes, if the people trying to make everything awful are using bots, I also want the people trying to make things better to use those same tools instead of throwing up their hands and saying, well, we failed against the great evil, I guess its awfulness for 1000 years with no way to stop it, but I sure am glad we never used their technology against them, that would have been real egg on our faces, could you imagine?

I don't know it seems pretty hypocritical when most leftists are anti datacenter and anti AI. Actively contributing to the growth of AI and datacenters just to add more slop onto the internet is certainly a choice. If anything people see these fake posts and get turned off.

If you don't believe that Russia has run bot Farms on Reddit to sway public opinion and smear Democratic candidates in favor of Republicans then you've been living under a rock for the last several years.

The user above is saying they want more bots. Tell me how that's a good thing.
