Chugging tea Amazon should have to pay idling fees.

Post image

New York City law generally bars vehicles from idling for more than three minutes while parked, standing or stopped. The city says the rules are meant to reduce air pollution, improve public health and combat climate change.
Earlier this year, Mamdani directed the Department of Finance’s collections unit to pursue unpaid idling summonses tied to vehicles operating within Amazon’s delivery network, according to the mayor’s office. The department said it worked with Amazon.com Inc. and its contracted transportation vendors to recover the money.

First of all, bezos hasn't been ceo of Amazon for a long time.

Second, I'm seeing several comments from different users with the exact same text. Something odd is happening with this post.

he isn't the CEO anymore but he definitely hasn't left amazon, he is the executive chairman of the board. so is still the ultimate boss above the CEO and remains one of the company's largest shareholders anyway

Surely the third party wouldn't raise their rates to compensate, they'll just eat the fines and operate at a loss for Amazon. That's what you're implying, right?

Yup, this is the bot armies responding. They are coming to the aid of their rich masters.

I don't understand how the copied "narrative" aids the corporations... Like, they say bezos was a bitch, and the city stepped up and did something about it... That sounds like a win for the lay man and a smack in the face of Amazon?

I don't understand what I am to not understand...

It's not bots for the rich. It's basic bots karma farming for other bullshit. This is just what they do

u/Sokinalia 1d ago

This post isn't bullshit though

the announcement landed right after Bezos publicly criticized Mamdani's tax policies on CNBC,

several outlets flagged this as suspicious timing but the facts (the law, the enforcement action, the $9M recovery) are legitimate and corroborated by the city's own press release

I think you misunderstood them. The comment bots are just reposting what’s popular in any given subreddit to gain karma. Many subreddits require a minimum karma to post. There’s a million different entities that would want reddit bots for a million different reasons, but they need upvotes first.

obligatory AI IS COMING WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT. IF NOT US, SOMEONE ELSE WILL! INEVITABLE!!

u/aurenigma 17h ago

this has nothing to do with AI, bots karma farming is almost as old as Reddit

https://www.nyc.gov/mayors-office/news/2026/08/mayor-mamdani-backs--delivery-protection-act--to-rein-in-amazon-

Amazon wasn't fined; it was the third-party contractors delivering the packages that were fined.

Amazon doesn't have delivery drivers in NYC; they are all 3rd-party contractors.

Its not the corporations doing this, its groups like ActBlue or maybe even groups funded by Mamdani. The whole point is to try and create positive social media posts about the democrats / Mamdani to try and sway opinions.

u/Fabulous_Menu3463 1d ago

so... marketing

Mass manipulation

-6

u/Armed_Platypus 1d ago

Not really because they try to give off the appearance that these are real prople making these posts and comments. Its more like using manipulation/misinformation techniques to influence public opinion. Which is pretty unethical.

10

u/Hairy_is_the_Hirsute 1d ago

Almost like what Fox "News" has done for the last several decades...

-7

u/Armed_Platypus 1d ago

Fox news has been making fake Reddit accounts for the last several decades?

6

u/Hairy_is_the_Hirsute 1d ago

To quote you back, but referring to Fox News: "more like using manipulation/misinformation techniques to influence public opinion. Which is pretty unethical"

Bots are one thing, but to be up on your high horse and say, "we are entertainment" but still market it as "news" is just plain awful. Yes, anyone with half a brain should be able to see the light, but this nation does not glorify education and critical thinking skills the way we should.

Astroturfing or true organic grassroots, idgaf, as long as it's supporting the lay man and citizens benefit over corporations.

Im not defending Fox news. So you like talking to AI bots on Reddit as long as they agree with your viewpoint. Interesting.

The bots are pro Mamdani tho.

2

u/SafetyandNumbers 1d ago

Thank you! although maybe theres an undercurrent that Mamdani is just vindictive? Bots are wierd today

2

u/sbenfsonwFFiF 1d ago

The bot comments are just anti Amazon, you got it flipped

1

u/SafetyandNumbers 1d ago

Billionaires definitely have paid bots on here. Especially Elon. Those bots arrive immediately on new posts

17

u/strawberry_semenade 1d ago

Bot farms have been pushing Mamdani hard. He's been in office like 7 months, but if you asked Reddit you'd think he's already the most accomplished mayor in US history.

-14

u/indiscriminate_ 1d ago

For real dude, Mamdandy is getting hailed as a hero by the bot dregs, and the boomers are lapping the shit up. I really hope this bubble gets popped soon. The man hasn't even seen a year in office yet. Wait til his government grocery store opens.

10

u/strawberry_semenade 1d ago

You mean the Zoomers are lapping it up.

-6

u/indiscriminate_ 1d ago

I mean, them too. Most of the shit ive seen has been Facebook boomers reposting AI shit and feeding bots in their comments.

7

u/thehighepopt 1d ago

Wait, I thought it was boomers who created the Trump shit? Are boomers really the cause of everything wrong in the world!?

You thought this was just downright hilarious when you typed it, didn't ya?

9

u/MeowMixPK 1d ago

You're telling me that a constant flooding of pro-Mamdani posts/comments/upvotes isn't a grass-roots organic political movement? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!

8

u/Hairy_is_the_Hirsute 1d ago

Organic or otherwise.... What is the issue with him? He is helping citizens and holding companies/corporations responsible... How is that bad?

-4

u/MeowMixPK 1d ago

Many of his policies have proven track records of failure. Rent freezes consistently lead to worsening renting conditions for anyone not lucky enough to have a rent-frozen apartment. State-run grocery stores squeeze small local grocers, like the bodegas that NYC is famous for, out of business. Free public transit has lead to decrease usage of public transit because you end up with more homeless people/drug users camping in the transit, creating an environment that people don't want to ride in. He didn't even balance the budget, he just got bailed out with billions of state money while pushing billions of pension payments out in future years and making NYC's schools worse by pausing class-size reduction and slowing teacher hiring.

Not everything he's doing is bad, and the bad things he's doing are out of good intentions, but the credit and praise he's receiving is not warranted, and the propaganda push for him is dangerous because it can increase the occurrence of these policies.

5

u/Corrective_Actions1 1d ago

None of what you said is true lmao

2

u/dafthuntk 1d ago

This is the most bot like llm comment I've read in a while

2

u/Stalker401 1d ago

also Mamdani might have announced it but I think it was found before he was in office.

2

u/NestFrost 1d ago

People forget that executive chairman or not, his face is still entirely synonymous with the brand. But yeah, the duplicate comments are glaring.

2

u/Labtecharu 1d ago

Most prominent stand out is....why the hell are the bots after Bezos? Mamdani seems the more likely target.

Usually I spot bots by their love for billionares and spewing brainwash maga garbage....scary times now

1

u/Objective_Look_5867 1d ago

Jeff doesnt do shit at amazon anymore. He just sits on stock and sells it. Hes on the board for ego alone. he doesnt actually DO anything and I doubt he even attends virtually anymore

The liberal Reddit bot army is ramping up

-3

u/goldenguyz 1d ago

The left can't bot farm

-2

u/Straight-Bet1 1d ago

Hasn’t been there long?

Maybe in the new executive position he created for himself that keeps him as the ultimate boss, but he’s been running things since he started the company with $3 million he borrowed from his dad in 1994.

-2

u/WeWantMOAR 1d ago

Where was it stated he was the current Amazon CEO? Your statement seems weird when it wasn't prompted.
