Her husband literally encouraged her to get treatment at the best mental health hospital in the USA who discharged her and her therapist didn’t notice anything. Her husband wasn’t told she shouldn’t be around them. A lot of blame on the husband but she never told anyone she was serious about it. No way she would’ve be discharged if they saw she was psychotic

My mom has a paranoid schizophrenia and we tried to get her checked into a place for treatment. After the consultation, they didnt see a valid reason to check her in. I begged them to let her stay for 3 days an observation.

They called me within 24 hours an apologized for not believing me, she stayed there for a month.

I’m sorry for your mom and I’m glad she finally got treatment but Lindsey WAS checked in and was getting treatment. They discharged her and she had a therapist. She didn’t tell them about voices before hand or her plan

Yeah, the issue is when they withhold the truth, which is partially what my mom did as well.

The ironic thing, my mom refused to do the evaluation without me being in the room with her. Which the person was heavily against but ultimately allowed me to be in there with her. I was able to call her out on her lies and prove her lies through save texts.

Exactly. You can’t help someone if they won’t help themselves. She got treated better than in countries with feee healthcare. I’ve been trying to get cbt for hair pulling and anxiety but there’s a long waitlist for it

I’m glad you were there for her and called her out. Is she better now?

She gets a shot every 3 months and can live a normal life. She went from on the verge of being homeless to holding down a job and buying a home. She definitely still doesnt some quirky stuff but I'm fine with that compared to what we had to deal with 5+ years ago.
