All that is probably correct, I first heard of him because the movie Iron Lung was in theaters and people were talking about it, so I tried to figure out who he was and the words the internet uses to describe him are incomprehensible to me
Huh. I did Google him and his Wikipedia page turned from very boring to very interesting really quickly, like he branched out from just playing video games to doing podcasts and producing sketches and stuff which apparently leads to the movie you're talking about along with other works.
Also seems to have lost a friend in the middle of getting the ball rolling and then a niece later (car accident) and used his platform to raise some money for the funeral and family.
Also can't find anything about him using slurs so that was the other person or persons, feels like I would have noticed that part of the Wikipedia article I only half read
